Ugly experience.
Service is very poor, if they Indians they treat you as second class customers. I usually pay 20% tips hoping that they will improve next time I go there, but it has not changed.
Food is mostly cooked by amatauer cooks who have no cocept of fine indian food.
As Scottowego mentioned, it is DARN expensive for a restaurant next to the University where the students can't afford :-( We were visiting our nephew at SUNY-B from NYC area and even we found it very expensive for a place where I can buy a nice beautiful house for $100K.
We were greatly disappointed to hear "No Buffet during Summer" and almost fainted to see Shrimp Briyani for about $25 :-(. For a moment I thought I was in NYC.
The food was decent but it is way over priced.
The food there is very good indeed but we left the restaurant after finding out the lunch buffet advertised on their web site is no longer offered. We drove pretty far to get there and it was really annoying that they still advertised something they no longer offered. I hope they do bring the buffet back. It offers a wide variety to sample for those of us who are not really that familiar with Indian cuisine. I was actually pretty angry. It was the principle of the thing. They do offer a 15% discount off the regular menu for lunch but prices start in the 17 to 18 dollar range and go up to about 27 dollars (if I remember correctly). Still too much for lunch. I did complain to the manager about not having the buffet.
