food is avg but overpriced (seafood platter was $22 for 2 shrimp, 2 scallops, about 2 oz of salmon, cole slaw, rice pilaf & a very small portion of veggies). bread sucked (thank you "my florist cafe&bakery"--who made it). sides were decent sized. clam chowder was alright, but not great. if you split a plate it's a $3 charge. and yes it's def a wait to be seated.
fair if you like too loud and a long wait. The classic; "no one goes there because it's too crowded.." I won't be back: the food, though plenty, is bland, the white sea bass tasted like the sauce and not the fish, the calimari; tasted of the breading only and too spicey. Great clam chowder. Sides were limited - Rice Pilaf and Fries (for fish?) should have potatoes or steamed rice. Service was good if overworked.
Other places to try next time.
update on Brophy Brothers... My husband and I go for a salad and chowder.. we LOVE it. The staff is very friendly and if something does go awry, they are happy to fix it.
