Disgusting! Had the seafood sampler, breading was soggy. Wife had blackened chicken, chicken extremely dry. Over priced.
I have tried this restaurant over and over hoping it would improve. I love New Orleans and my family lives on the southside so it seemed perfect. Her are the list of things that gives it a thumbs down.
1. horrible beignets
2. Tried on three different occasions to order cafe au lait but they either say they are out or they served me regular coffee on two of the visits. We asked the waiter about it and he assured us it was cafe au lait because "the owner made it himself". After inquiring the waiter again he told us the owner says to say sorry but regular coffee must have been put in the other container. Funny how this happened twice!
3. Very little meat in any of the famous dishes. ex. jambalya
Unfortunately the owner has never personally apologized for serving us the wrong item (coffee) 3 times. I honestly think this is a form of stealing from the customer. As a customer, we hope when we order and pay for an item than we will be served what we ordered. Not to try and sneak a different item!!
If you are interested in overpriced, small portions, no refills on water from your waitress and no napkins at all..then this is the place to be! we walked in on a saturday during lunch hours..around 12, there was 3 other tables otherwise the place was empty..i overheard the lady at the next table request napkins after her meal showed up and that should have been a sign for me..but..we stopped there because they had a huge banner in the window that said "crawfish" only to find out that they were out of crawfish to put on the po boy that my sister wanted..in fact ..we were told they were completely out. needless to say she ordered soup of the day and fritters. i ordered the etoufee. 35 minutes later our food shows up ...the rice tasted like leftovers...and half of my etoufee was cold..which led me to believe it was reheated. i live with a true cajun and maybe i have higher expectations..not too mention i had been a server most of my life..but good service was not found here. we never received napkins or refills on our water. my sister was not impressed with her soup and the fritters were very dry. the etoufee did have a good flavor...but to me..you are overpaying!! and when the gentleman asked how my lunch was..i was very honest and told him that it was okay..he seemed a little off guard and said "wow"..sorry..i have had much better!

Sorry to hear you had a bad dinner there - it just proves that imitation is not always the highest form of compliment. Next time try the original Blue Orleans on Amnicola Highway. Perhaps you will find a more satisfactory dining experience at the place where it all started.
