I recently visited this restaurant with my cousin and little niece. I expected the food to be average like most soul food restaurants that Iâve visited. We ordered an appetizer called chicken lollipop and its chicken on a stick. When it came out, I was a little skeptical. You know how picky children are and so I knew I was going to be forced to make my niece try the food. She tried it (she is only five) and she it was delicious and proceeded to eat up all the chicken before I could try it. I tried it and all I could say was oh my god. The owner/chef came out and I asked him for the recipe. He revealed that it was a family secret. I joked with him that I would be back in the middle of the night to break in and steal the recipes (thatâs just how good the food was). We later ordered tilapia, Mac and cheese w/mashed potatoes, and gravy. When I tasted the mashed potatoes, I knew they were homemade and they were very good. The Mac and cheese was honestly the best Iâve ever had at a restaurant and some of my relatives homes (but donât tell them I said that). The fish was also delicious. A friend of mines stopped by, I let him try a piece of my fish, and he stated it was also good. He said this was his new spotï I know I will be back. I live in Akron but I'm willing to come all the way to Cleveland for a meal I know will satisfy me. Iâve tried so-called soul food before but this tops them all. In addition, the price of the food for all four of us didnât break my wallet. I was happy to pay for the food even thought I was the guest. Stop by and enjoy the food. I guarantee you wonât be disappointed.
p.s. Our server was very patient and kind to us all. She was very sweet.
