Heritage Montessori Academy

My family has been apart of the Heritage Montessori family for almost a year now. We have enjoyed the love that all of the staff and teachers have given my son as well as my family. My son, who is 4yrs old, has grown and matured greatly in their program. I was surprised at how quickly he adapted to their curriculum since he had been previously in a typical child care facility. Any comments on directness of staff has been necessary in my opinion. They are flexible where needed, but have to keep the business of the school running as smoothly as possible. There has never been a doubt in my mind that my son is well taken care of, proud of the work that he does, and enjoys where he is.

Our son has been at the Allen Heritage Montessori Academy for 3 1/2 months now, and we are very pleased with the school. The philosophy, methodology, and teachers are much, much better, in our opinion, than other day-care's that we tried in the Allen area. One of the things we like the most about the school is the level of experience of the teachers. They are older and more mature than in other centers in the area: they probably have an average age of mid 30s, and they all have at least some official Montessori training, with one teacher per classroom being fully certified. We are also very pleased with the Montessori philosophy. It develops the children in a wholistic manner.

I've read some comments about the directors lacking a bit of "tact" in dealing with parents. Here's my opinion on that. Yes, they are direct. But frankly that is refreshing. When it comes to my kids, I think it's a positive sign that the directors and teachers tell it how it is.

I think the director/owner is fantastic. She's extremely dedicated to the school, teachers, and kids. She is strict and seems to run a tight ship, and I see this as a positive sign on the program.

Really bad place to be in.

I am not sure how they are even surviving.. Location??

Stay away if you can.
