Theres nothing wrong with this theater, per se. Its the employees. I have a new baby and its rare that I get out alone and enjoy a movie. And of course, money is tight, so its not only rare but its a treat.
Immediately upon entering I ask with a smile on my face for a ticket to the movie im seeing, and without a word or a smile the cashier gets the ticket and pushes it across the counter. No thank you, nothing....even though I thanked HIM.
Cue candy counter, where three wayward teens are leaning on it contemplating how much they hate their existence. Again, with a smile on my face I ask for my candy and drink....punctuated with a please. Nothing.....all three of them with vacuous stares slow motion thru my request. One tosses the bag of candy at me, one gets the drink, and the third rings me up....never looking at me.....never saying a word to me. Even after I thank them.
First of all, I THANK these people out of a courtesy, but considering it costs an arm and a leg to go to a movie when I could rent one and grab food for about 6 bucks and do this at him, they should be the ones thanking ME! But even a YOUR WELCOME would have done from any of them.....nope.
And busy you might say? Maybe they were just flustered because they were slammed? Nope.....weekday....I was the only one there.
Ive worked retail in the past...for a long time. I was a teenager....I know the combination of these two things sucks in their overly dramatic minds. But seriously.....theres a stocking job at walmart they could get if they hate this one so bad. That way they wouldnt have to talk to customers. Poor movie employees. Having to watch movies for free, talk to their friends, not get dirty outside......how do they ever deal with it.
