Hanging Tree Restaurant

Me and a friend stopped in there for lunch in July after visiting the local sights. I had this massive burger with sausage and cheese on a jalapeno spiced bun. This had to be the best burger I ever got my two hands on. With home style fries and some large glasses of ice tea I drove home wishing I had the space for a second burger. It was great. I will be returning and I highly recommend this restaurant on your visit to Goliad. A very friendly and helpful crew made our visit excellent. Thanks again. John Revell, Corpus Christi, Tx.

menu offers few choices, hit and miss on the food quality and warmth. service is ok, staff seems to be learning. baked potatoes are cold, but over 70% of the time meals are good. dinner is best, lunch crowd is non existent.

I was traveling downtown one day and spotted The Hanging Tree Restaurant and decided to go and eat there.. as i walked through the door i saw deer heads and was enchanted by the old historic pictures on the wall and amazed by the gigantic elk.I decided to try a cup of the chicken and dumplings that are made by the owner and they were just to die for..the wormth filled my belly great comfort food.I looked over the menu and ordered the seafood platter a huge plate filled with a catfish fillet, stuffed crab, fried shrimp and oysters the shrimp were excellent by the way..well the service was great and very friendly. I recommend The Hanging Tree to anyone anyday
