Out first experience at the bakery was very nice. We order a couple pastries and were satisfied. Unfortunately our next experience was not as good. I ordered a birthday cake for my wife hoping to give her a fantastic cake and not the same generic cakes from Publix or other grocery store. To make a long story short - the cake was not what I ordered. The taste was awful. As it turned out, I still had to go to Publix to get a cake because no one at our birthday party wanted to finish the one from the Sweet Traditions. The worst part was the service. When I complained that the cake was not what I ordered I received an insincere apology and no offer for refund. This poor response left a "bad taste" as much so as the cake itself. I finally was able to get the bakery to at least look at what was left of the cake to see if maybe one of the ingredients was bad, etc. When my wife took in the remainder of the cake, the owner has left her a note with a gift certificate for a $3 pastry. We paid $28 for the cake. I would recommend not patronizing this bakery. They have a poor customer service. If you do go there, don't order a birthday cakeâ¦
A fantastic little bakery cafe. The breads are fresh, pastries are heavenly, coffee is perfect. I couldn't have thought of a more delightful way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon than to take a short drive to Winter Garden and enjoy this gem on the outskirts of the Orlando Metro area.
If you're thinking of going, STOP, get up, and get into your car. You won't be sorry you did, not for one moment.
Nestled in the heart of Historic Winter Garden, Florida, the Sweet Traditions Cafe (126 W Plant St, Winter Garden, FL 34787 ) is a must for anyone in Central Florida who appreciates gourmet food in a calm, peaceful and serene atmosphere. The menu is extensive and creative. Their cuisine is Parisienne. Their pastries, merrangues, tortes, cakes and cookies are a gourmands delight. Their savory crepe's are simply to die for. Their food is not for anyone who is insistent upon counting their calories, but it is the best food this side of Paris. The owner ran her own bakery and cafe in Paris for over 4 years. The coffee in this shop is quite simply the best that I have ever tasted, bar none. The atmosphere is serene and the service is supreme. Even with all of its great food going for it, this cafe could have been just another dessert place, but the owners have covered every base quite nicely. The staff at Sweet Traditions is top notch. The owner and her husband are the top chefs, and they have taught their staff well. When I stopped by the other day, the town of Winter Garden was celebrating the Grand re-opening of their City Hall, so that both the owner and her husband were off premises, catering the Gala. Even without them being there, my dinner was one of the best that I have had in Central Florida in the past 5 years. This shop does not scrimp on anything. The prices are quite modest for the quality of the food. And, everything they serve in the cafe is created and prepared fresh upon your order. You don't get that kind of service from a fast-food or chain restaurant. So, do yourself and your family a favor and support this business. Keep this great little cafe open for years to come.
