We went out at 5pm on a Monday for pizza and were the only customers in the restaurant. The atmosphere was comfortable with wood furniture and artwork. The waitress was nice and took our order promptly. We ordered the first pizza on the menu that had basil, two types of cheese, a red sauce and we added wild mushrooms for $2 more. We received our order in a reasonable amount of time.
Unfortunately, the pizza was burnt on the outside and had very few ingredients, even with the add on. We explained to the waitress that we weren't too pleased with the burnt pizza and she said, "That is the way it has to cook to get hot in the middle." Personally, if I am paying $22 for a pizza, even if it has local and organic ingredients...it shouldn't be burnt. AND, I shouldn't be told to eat around it. We finished what we could and brought the rest home for our dog. We will never be back to this restaurant.
It is wonderful to see art and local foods joined together. Sticks and Stones is a wonderfully organic pizza joint with a twist. It is beautiful and unique, with amazing art on the walls. The food is amazing, and well worth the price. The waitstaff is a bit grumpy, but it adds to the charm.
