Very much a local hang out this bar and eatery has fallen on hard times. The previous owner/operator ran the place into the ground until the doors were closed for a time. Recently somewhat cleaned up and partially remodeled with a new operator, the place still has the atmosphere of an old roadside beer joint and gin mill and still has a reputation as a dive bar with some of the lowest of the local lower class as regular customers. Especially during the day. If you don't mind rubbing elbows with the grungy and unwashed this is your place. Food is inconsistant and can take forever to come out of the kitchen. If you're lucky you might actually get what you ordered. Service isn't much better. Depnding on the sobriety of the kitchen staff and the bartender, quality ranges from average to terrible. While they do have good days it typically is the exception rather than the rule. Entertainment is offered on weekends by local bands and draws a fair crowd if you can avoid the bums at the bar drooling over their dollar a glass beer. To be fair, the prime rib on Friday and Saturday is usually fair to good and the burgers are O.K. depending again on the staff at the time. Pizzas are also on the menu but be patient. It may be an hour or so before you see it. Certainly not for the discriminating traveler or those looking for a more up-scale experience.
