Overall, M. Fierro is really good.
But here's the deets.
Service was generally good. There were a few moments when we felt like we were waiting for our waitress to finish her conversations before attending to us, but it wasn't unreasonable, I suppose. All of the meats were amazing, the ribs and filet mignon standing out. We went for the late lunch, which is a little less than the dinner, which may have been the cause of our main complaint. The rodizio included the salad bar, which frankly, grossed us out. If the bugs crawling in the deli meat wasn't enough to turn us off, the hair baked into my quiche DEFINITELY was. This may have been a result of a lack of attention since it was about 4-5 pm (not a big traffic hour)..but still. Bugs? Hair? Not acceptable...
For the most part, our party enjoyed this restaurant; there were some pros, some cons.We went for dinner last night and this is the general consensus. First, no item on the a la carte menu is less than $29.95. Second, there are no items on the menu for children. Luckily, children can graze from the salad bar for the reduced price of $10.
Third, the waitstaff was fairly quick and attentive. Our server forgot a couple things a couple of times but she was very personable and the food was not bad but not fantastic either. One couple ordered the seafood special and was not impressed. One person had salad bar only; this is a meal in itself, but costs $22.50 or so. The salad bar is fairly impressive. One person ordered a la carte and the jumbo tiger skewers were great. Three of us chose the rodizio and it was a very interesting experience. 9 meats were served last night: a large link sausage (excellent), chicken legs (very delicious), bacon wrapped chicken (a little dry), pork tenderloin (very dry), barbecue ribs (fall apart tender), bottom sirloin (okay), top sirloin (so rare it was nearly bleeding), filet mignon (also rare) and lamb (good). Garlic mashed potatoes and carmelized bananas are the side dishes and salad bar is included for $38 or $39. The guys carried meat around on huge swords and cut or placed pieces of meat on our plates. It is all you can eat. When youâre done, flip the little coaster over from green (still hungry) to red (finished). In a side note, the filet was too rare for me so I asked for meat done a little more and got it a few minutes later. No meat will be cooked the same. In a week, the lamb might be too dry and the chicken legs might be dry. We had a great house wine ($27 or so) and desert. The deserts are not made in house, they are purchased boxed. 18% gratuity is included for parties of 6 or more. I donât think these prices are outrageous but a lot of people will. The restaurant itself and the facilities are very clean, spacious and inviting. One of the things that impressed me is that it didnât feel like the restaurant was trying to be upscale or pretentious. It was comfortable and relaxing. So, if you arenât afraid to spend some money on dinner go to M. Fierroâs and definitely try the rodizio. Splurge and get their house red. Good luck deciding between the dulce de leche and turtle cheesecakes though.
I was reading the review about Martin Fierro and I strongly disagree with it. We went there 3 times already and we really enjoy not only the salad bar which is excellent but also the 10 different kinds of meats. They are juicy and you can have as much as you can. The price is ok if you think tht a simple 8oz filet with a salad and a potato is between $28 and $32 anywhere around.
The servers are very friendly and always take care of us professionally. It's actually our favourite place in Paducah, and we have taken all our friends and they love it.
