Dickey's Barbecue Pit

The food was weak and over-pricedd, Place is closed.

The food was very good, but note that I'm comparing this place to other fast food places; it won't compare to mom-and-pop barbecue places. The place is actually between fast food and a sit-down restaurant. They bring your food out to you and bus your table for you, but you get your own flatware, condiments, and drinks. No tip is expected.

Service was excellent. The manager wandered the restaurant while cleaning and chatted with every customer her could.

Prices were a little high for lunch, but the quantity of food justified it. I had the beef brisket plate and felt that I could have shared it with someone and still gotten full.

The macaroni and cheese was just ok. The waffle fries were very good. The beef itself would have been dry if I ate it plain, but with the sauce it tasted very good. I left the restaurant with a free ice cream in my hand and a smile on my face.

Good restaurant. Clean. Take out orders are quick and accurate. They have the best little rolls there. The only thing I was disappointed in was the pecan pie.....its served in a little pie box in the shape of a pie and it wasn't homemade. Kids get free ice cream cone with their meal and they eat free on Sundays! I hope they make it in Irvine.
