They are in business to make money. I have used them twice in last four years and had a great experience. If you pay a little more than your monthly payment ,more goes to principal. That way you pay it off sooner. You establish credit with them and can borrow again. Interest is charged on balance. I never paid more than $35 for title transfer. Of course car becomes theirs until loan repaid. It is your collateral. Take a business class. They have always been there for me when I was in a bind and the experience was fine.
