I had a customer come in my place of business that told me that he had the worst experience ever there and would never go back. Apparently, his wife ordered a steak, medium rare and it came to her very well done. When they tried to send it back the owner refused unless they paid for another steak and apparently was very rude to them, to the point of throwing them out with threat of calling the police.

So I don't generally take anyone's word about things like this, as I don't know if maybe there are two sides to a story. But now I know firsthand....

A friend of mine and I decided to go there from Eustis. The waitress was very very nice to us. The Bloody Mary's were excellent. We ordered an appetizer of mushrooms, which were also very good. We were talking about bringing a group of our friends out there and maybe start hanging out there. So then the cheeseburgers come - When they got there, there was no mayo, or lettuce or tomatoes or onions which I asked for. My friend ordered one piece of lettuce for hers and mayo. I was almost halfway through my burger when I felt something in my mouth that was hard. I picked it out. It was disgusting, it was some sort of cartilidge from another type of meat than ground beef. It was about an inch long and about a half inch wide. I told the waitress that I was grossed out by it, and wanted something else like a salad or something. She comes back out and the owner told her to tell me no that I would have to pay for anything additional. She didn't even bother to see what was in my burger. I couldn't believe it - was shocked actually. So then I took my plate into the bar tender and showed it to him. He was very nice, surprised and understanding. So then he comes out to our table, after speaking with the owner who is his mother with a totally different attitude, treating me like I was trying to gain a free meal or something. UNBELIEVABLE. He finally agreed to bring me a tuna plate. When the bill came, they did not charge me for the tuna plate, but for the burger. And they also charged my friend 50 cents for a piece of lettuce, and charged me 50 cents for lettuce, tomatoes and onions. They also charged me 25 cents for the honey mustard. Also, the Bloody Marys, although very good, costed 6.00. They have no customer service skills, (excluding the waitress - she did the best she could) and have now lost about 10 potential new customers. It is a beautiful place however, and there were some very nice people there that worked for the Clermont Boat Club that rents boats. That I would come back for, but never would I give another dollar to this place. It was really a stomach turning experience.

JB Boon Dock's Bar & Grill is an intimate hometown restaurant. Most patrons are local and the weekend is full of fun and food for bikers, boaters and those looking for a complete family dining experience. JB Boon Dock's is a fine dining experience in a small town environment. Sit by the waters edge of the Lake Harris Chain of lakes, enjoy the view, while in the comfort of AC, and don't be afraid to order the best steak you've ever tasted...

Service is second to none. The owner greats you at the door and makes you feel at home the moment you see her smile.

Just letting you know, I am "not" an employee, just a local that is proud of my town and the people that I share it with.
