Four Moons brings an exceptional fine dining atmosphere to an area which is destined to see much expansion in the near future. Knowing nothing other than word of mouth reviews, I decided to take a trip with my family to Four Moons, and I was⦠for lack of a better word⦠impressed with the chefâs tastes and creativity with the menu. Many combinations of unique flavors are found on the menu (such as the Pan Roasted Duck Breast which came with forest mushrooms, golden raisins, and a trio of root vegetables). The waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. I was very impressed and will without a doubt jump at the chance to come back to Four Moons!
I recently visited Phases Moon Bar and I was very surprised at the âgemâ I found in Orangeburg. I live in Columbia and never would have guessed that Orangeburg would have such an upscale, urban type of bar like Phases. After having a few drinks at the bar, we decided to order something of the menu. The food on the bar menu is served tapas style. I had the Beef Tenderloin on goat cheese and it was absolutely incredible! I also tried the Truffle Fries, which were the best! I also tasted the lamb with blue cheese ice cream. The ice cream was a wonderful surprise in your mouth, not as overwhelming as one would think. The restaurant manger collaborated with our bartender to suggest our wines and they were both right on target with our food. I found the bar refreshing and comfortable, not stuffy at all. Itâs really a great place to bring friends and family and enjoy the atmosphere of an upscale establishment. You might think for a moment you are in New York, Chicago or even a European Bar with itâs outstanding décor. The staff is wonderful and not over zealous at all. Donât miss it, and enjoy!
Growing up in Columbia, and going to school at College of Charleston, I have been lucky enough to experience some fine dining in my life, however, never have I been to a restaurant quite like Four Moons. I heard hype of this new restaurant located in Orangeburg, and I finally decided to follow the recommendations and try it for myself. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by two lovely hostesses who immediately told me that my reserved table was ready, and I was walking down the short hallway with a color changing waterfall at the end. The food and service were both astonishing. The waitress knew exactly what recommendations to list based not only on the chefâs recommendations, but also her own personal favorites. I started with the famed âMacaroni and Cheese,â which is an appetizer of butter poached lobster and orzo pasta, topped with a spoonful of delicious caviar. This appetizer, might I add, is the best appetizer Iâve ever had! I ordered the Grilled Bison Strip Loin, while my partner enjoyed the âBiscuits and Gravyâ, which were both delectable! The âBiscuits and Gravyâ dish was my favorite, as it had a lobster with seared scallops with sweet corn and asparagus blended together. We couldnât resist the desert menu and after much deliberation, I ordered the âRC Cola and a Moon Pieâ and my partner chose the Tropical Sorbet Trio, as recommended by the waitress. My dish was elegantly prepared with a moon shaped cake decorated with plenty of chocolate and white chocolate syrup, served with an RC Cola ice cream float on the side. The Sorbet Trio was as delicious as anticipated and offered sorbets of apple with blueberries, blood orange, and lemon sage. After leaving Four Moons, I felt two things: completely satiated and compelled to return. I would highly recommend Four Moons to anyone from, or simply passing through Orangeburg, because it is a unique dining experience and you will be hard pressed to find anything comparable!
