Real BBQ from a real family! All the meats are smoked in-house, and they are excellent. In addition to the usual suspects (pulled pork, , chicken, sausage, ribs) they have some unusual offerings: a tri-tip steak sandwich, for example, and always an interesting chili (I've tried sausage chili and also a pulled chicken chili; both were excellent). They have added Hershey's ice cream and homemade banana pudding. Even the homemade cole slaw is outstanding, just the right amount of moisture, not too sweet.
The atmosphere is homey and genuinely friendly, with much of the family working in the restaurant. In an age of cookie-cutter corporate restaurants, this is a family business that deserves our support.
By the way, as the weather warms up, you'll want to get your catering orders in early: the word is getting out.
Everything there is awesome. From the pulled pork, to the ribs, the chicken, whole wings (not that partial crap they sell you at bars), brisket, steak sandwiches, turkey, burgers (they even smoke the burgers!)..... even the baked beans are good, and I'm not usually a fan. Nothing fancy for the dine in area, but it's comfortable. Two big TV's down on one end and self serve fountain drinks. Not the fake smoke wanna-be chain restaurant BBQ, this stuff is GOOD. right off 29 and John's Hopkins road. They even do whole pigs for catering!
