I went to Elan after recieving a BAD haircut from mia & max. I decided on this hair salon due to the good ratings on various websites. The hairstylist that I saw was praised and complimented on the multiple websites so I thought "well it sounds like he knows what he's doing". Chris did fix the problems that the last stylist left however I was not satisfied with the longest layer. I felt it needed to be shorter. I also asked him for face framing layers and we had agreed on the layers starting at the middle of my cheek, however what I got was the layer starting below my chin. I also recieved highlights while i was there. For the most part the highlights looked good, however there is this one spot that was orangish. It wouldn't be that big of a deal, but it is the hair by my forehead and because of it's location it IS noticeable. This could have been resolved with a second toner or letting the hair "lift" for a little longer. I have had my hair highlighted before and I use to lighten my own hair when I was younger. This was the first time I had ever gotten an orange patch, a little brassy maybe but never orange. This all could have been a better haircut/service with a little more time spent. He might have taken the time to work on what I was dissatisfied with but he was in such a hurry trying to get the next walk-in. He was blow drying my hair as fast as possible and making comments about how he "always gets the clients with the long thick hair". When he was finaly done I had to ask for a mirror to see the back of my head and when I NICELY mentioned the things that I wanted to fix he started getting this look of impending sense of doom because he had the walk-in waiting for him for awhile already. I got my hair cut the way I wanted it at another place a week later. Bottom line is that he did fix what I asked him to, but new problems arose. When this happens I have found that the best hair stylists would catch any problems with the highlighting process and check my hair often and correct whatever issue there was one. The best hair stylists also make sure that you leave 100% satisfied instead of sending you home to let the look "grow on me". To his defense he did state that if I still didn't like it in a couple of days I could come back and he would fix it. I would give him two and a half stars but that was not an option, so three stars it is.
