My fiance went to P.D. a few months ago and we encountered the same problem. They told him that the insurance would be taking care of it we just had to pay the copay. We did just that and a couple weeks later they called to tell us that they insurance would not be covering it, that he was not covered at the time and that we were responsible for the balance ($939.00). I called the insurance company to see what the issue was and apparently they(P.D.) was not able to verify enrollment but went ahead and did the work anyway. I called P.D. back and told them that I would not pay it considering that we would not have had the work done if it wouldn't be covered by insurance. I told them that they reassured us that it was okay and that it wasn't our fault that their office was incompetent. They continued to call asking to make payment but unfortunately we were unable to pay such an amount. They eventually said that they would settle for $400.00. Again, we didn't have that kind of money, hence why we wanted to be sure it was covered before we went through with procedure. A month later we receive a letter from an attorneys office to pay the debt. We called the attorney to let them know that NUMEROUS calls from our insurance company to have them resubmit claims with the CORRECT membership number were NEVER returned. (Funny they had no time to return calls but had enough time to harass me over 5 times while I was at work). I talked to the same person, Nadia, and she was absolutely RUDE!!! She told me that nevertheless a service was rendered and we SHOULD pay for it. (She even ADMITTED that they made a mistake but continued to press for payment). I don't understand her philosophy and thinking considering we were under the understanding that insurance was going to cover it. They knew BEFORE the service that they could not verify insurance so why did they tell us otherwise and proceed with at least a bigger deposit.
Needless to say, here we are 5 months later and we receive a court summons.
If this is the third complaint like this on this site alone, can you imagine those that are not? Stand clear of them unless you don't mind having to pay out of pocket. I am going to fight this one to the end!!
I AGREE DO NOT EVER GO HERE!!!! All they're out to get is your money. Same experience, they approved procedures that were supposedly covered by insurance come to find out they're not. Ended up spending over 1,000 dollars out of pocket. Not to mention. he messed up my husbands crown, which currently had to be redone again because it didn't fit the tooth at all. They don't care about you or your teeth, justthe MONEY!!!!
PLEASE AVOID PLATINUM DENTAL!!!!
I went to Platinum Dental for services and was pre approved by my dental insurance for the services that they Platinum explained to me that they were going to perform.
Platinum either performed alternative services ,or illegally charged my insurance company. I was told by Platinum, after they performed the services that my insurance rejected the claim which they has previously told me was approved.I would not have had the procedure done if they had not already been given a pre-approval.
The customer service that I received from their represenative whose name is Nadia is the worsr service that I have ever received from any human being, she is the nastiest person that I have ever dealt with in history. PLEASE AVOID PLATINUM DENTAL!!!!
