My son is highly allergic to chemicals, so I can't use most of the carpet cleaners because they use toxic chemicals.
The Service Depot technician really did a great job. He showed me that he was only using clean water and green products. I asked him to show me the containers so I could read the ingredients for myself, and they were all approved by Green Seal. I know that sounds a little paranoid, but I just won't take chances with my child's health.
I've had my carpets previously cleaned by two other cleaners who claimed to use all natural and toxic free methods. It's difficult to tell if these companies are telling you the truth. The Stanley Steemer guys used nothing but water and most of the dark spot and stains didn't come out. They were nice and apologized and told me that was the best they could do.( I called them because I remembered their jingle on the radio). The other company was in and out in 15 minutes and they left a lot of the stains as well.
The Service Depot tech charged me about the same as the other guys, but he actually took the time to get all the stains out. The carpet was dry in a couple of hours and still looks great after a couple of weeks.
Oh, I almost forgot. Before he started up his carpet cleaning machine, he vacuumed the entire house with a commercial vacuum and got out about the equivalent of a grocery bag full of dirt, dust, and hair. I had just vacuumed the day before with my 2-year old Dysan.
I'm moving from Austin to Dallas, and I hope Service Depot has a branch there.
