I do agree on the fact that MGM Foxwoods is not very welcoming. It is a bit sterile and yes the gamming area is pretty small and bit too bright in it's lighting. I have to commend the employees since I did encounter many who were polite and helpful! The guestrooms are beautiful but many people do not like the fact that the bathrooms lack a bathtub, this didn't bother me since I do not soak in bathtubs when I travel. Yes the rooms are small but very elegant with a great comfy bed. I was dissapointed in it's theater since I thought it was badly designed and not very pleasing to the eye. It reminded me of a brand new highschool auditorium. The mezzanine seats are very high up and this has to make it difficult to view the stage. In my opinion the theater seems badly designed. My wife and I were there for the Sarah Brightman concert which proved to be a BIG dissapointment for the reason being that she lacked any charisma/personality and cut the show short and what I gathered from the fans sitting next to me was that this was not the type of show she usually is known to perform. After the strange concert we had a couple of drinks at the bar and kept hearing from concert goers on their dissapointment with the show since they were expecting a large production and not the short set list presented. This really put a damper on our night but at least we did have a good meal at a steak house located in Foxwoods which I should add is a long walk from MGM. Would I go back to this MGM in CT? probably not. My favorite Casino in CT has to be the Mohegan sun since it has such eye appeal and basically livelier in atmosphere.
