The truth about this store is that yes, the guy is nice enough but the place is a mess. The fish tanks are dirty, the bird cages need cleaning, the puppies are not kept clean or well taken care of, and in that back little cave there's a tank fulll of crickets the doesn't even have a lid on it. The guy lets the tortoise roam around all day, while that's cute and all, he also lets the puppies run around in this dirty store. Pup[pies are like infants, very suseptible and fragile. Their cages are not clean to begin with and he's got them running around in this dirty store chewing on who knows what. We know someone who got a pup from him and it was sick with worms its no wonder. My wife and I went in and there was a little girl holding a puppy who was obviously sick. it was coughing and shaky. Everyone writing these reviews is commenting on how nice this guy is but how well is this guy taking care of the animals?? My wife was ready to call the SPCA when we left this place. We haven't been back there in months. It's just a mess, dirty, and unorganized. Compare the cleanliness to the place down the street, Woofy. We hate that anyone is selling puppies in pet stores being they are likely coming from puppy mills, but at least this Woofy place is neat and clean and seems to make sure the pups stay in good health. This guy should be a food and accessory store only, if anything. Find a shelter someplace, they take better care of them then this place and you won't be supporting puppy mills. Think about it.

If you haven't been in this store for months then why wait for months to write a reveiw sounds like a lie. But thanks for your imput

I went into Edgewater Pets to buy fish food and found alittle face I could not resist. After speaking with the owner James who filled me in on the baby Yorkie I decided to buy her too. I was torn because I have a yorkie who is 16 and was not sure if getting a new puppy was the best idea. Now here is my review...is there alot going on in the store YES, are there animals roaming loose Yes, and could it be cleaner YES. With all that being said, Fort Lee Animale Hospital said that my new puppy was in perfect health. Flea free, worm free, alert, and healthy. I had a wonderful experience.

Why Edgewater pets is best: excellent service, they help to find homes for pets, find everything you need in there, they are good with animals, very knowledgeable with the animals. I give them 5 stars all the way!
