I took my child to Martin Pediatric Dentistry and had a pleasant experience. This was my child's first visit to a dentist. Dr. Martin and her staff were great. I did not have to wait that long and was given valuable information. They have only been open a short while but you cannot tell that by their professionalism. I will continue to take my child and I recommend them, I have medicaid and they do accept it which is rare for a private practice. My child was happy and that is what's important to me.
I also had a bad experience with Martin Pediatric Dentistry, also known as Mighty Mouths Pediatric Dentistry, that I want people to be aware of before they make an appt. I took my two boys in for a cleaning which went fine, albeit a little pricey. I knew my six year old son who needed several fillings for the first time would have some problems with the drill due to some oral sensory issues he has. At the time of cleaning when we were scheduling the appt. I made Dr. Martin aware of this as well as the hygenist AND the dental assistant. His appointment for the filling went just as I suspected and he was being difficult due to the sound of the drill (second visit he was an angel because he knew what to expect). When I got the EOB from or insurance company Dr. Martin had charged us $95.00 for a Behavior management fee that was never discussed with me nor agreed upon and that the insurance company would not pay. I called the next day and they refused to drop the charge so now I am stuck with a $100 charge that I have to pay out of pocket that I was not expecting. I just lost my job and it will be difficult for me to come up with the extra money but I have to because my credit is on the line if I don't. So be warned about Dr. Martin's un-ethical business practices. You will also have to wait anywhere from 45 min. to an hour and a half before your child sees her EVEN IF YOU ARE THE SECOND PATIENT OF THE DAY like we were! I'm trying to get the wod out about this so she doesn't take advantage of anyone else in my community, especially with the economy the way it is right now.
I emailed the organization with my concerns (my 2 yr old princess had 2 chipped teeth which needed repaired as soon as possible). I called and followed up shortly after sending my email to get the ball moving. While driving from Ft. Jackson, I supplied them with my insurance information and scheduled an appointment for my daughter within the next 2 days. This was my daughterâs first visit to the dentist and she loved it. I expected x-rays, and a cleaning (a general first visit as indicated by my insurance company). They took one x-ray and told me crowns would be the best way to fix my daughterâs teeth. They schedule 2 other appointments, which confused me-a cleaning and then the actual procedure fix her teeth. Which I agreed to (but felt did not immediately address my concerns). 2nd visit came and went my daughter loved it even more-she got her teeth cleaned and again we talked about what needed to be done as far as fixing her chipped teeth. 4:00 p.m. I receive a call from Mighty Mouth/Office-to the effect ofâOh, we forgot to tell you (this past week that we have been talking about crowns and fixing chipped baby teeth) that your appointment tomorrow, the one you initially contacted us about and have been waiting over a week for, is going to cost you $311.00 and we will need that payment at time of service. If you are a single parent and live life with a budget and arenât getting paid on that Friday of the appointment-then this is NOT what you expect to hear. Less than 24hrs. before an appointment youâve taken 3 days off of work to get to and waited over a week for. Basically they were unwilling to work with me (accept payment the following Friday when I brought my son in to get him started as a new patientâso yes, they were definitely going to see more of me and definitely going to end up getting more money out of me as a customer âesp. since my son loves tea, soda and sweets and as a teenager tends to brush his teeth when he feels like listening to me tell him to brush his teeth. The suggestion I received was to pay for another service instead of the one I asked for (which was still not a service they informed me of the cost of prior to the next dayâ¦so was still not within my budget) orâ¦you guessed itâtake another day off and reschedule (mind you at this point in time the days I have missed from work /the pay I would have received from being at work-you know, working, more than covers the cost of the procedure I emailed them about prior to even setting foot in their office). If you have all the time in the world and no budget to follow what-so-ever and love hanging out in waiting rooms for multiple times a weeks at 1 hrs increments-then this is the place to go. If you live in the real world, actually have to go to work, operate on a budget, or need to be informed of costs of services-when they are aware of the services they are recommending (and canât pull money out your bum-bum in less than 24hrs) then this IS NOT the place to go for pediatric dental services especially in an emergency/immediate attention-type situation!

I agree with hello kitty. I did not have to wait for my appointment. It is such a comfortable environment and we like it a lot.
