I have used Austech twice now, both times have been a prime example of how you wish every service company in the world treated you. They know when you have a leak it's stressful and try their best to get right out to check it out. Also, they are the experts - Darren has improved upon the equipment and he sells his improved equipment to others as well as training others - but why go to the student when you can get the professor for the same price or less. It always seems like a lot money to have a leak detected, but Darren and his team find it and then provide a quote on repairs if you are interested. I've had a skimmer replaced, and most recently cracks in the pool floor repaired. They are the nicest people. I highly recommend them - now if only they'd do A/C, irrigation, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and roofing I'd be set for life.
For about 4 weeks me and my wife thought we had a leak in our pool but we werent sure so we watched it, did the bucket test my wife heard of somewhere and sure enough, we figured we were losing about 2 or more inches a week. I did what any normal person would do, I looked for a pool company to find the leak. I found a few companies and after talking to about 3 or 4, I chose one and had them come out. The first company I had come out didn't show up on time and when they finally got here they only looked around and put some red dye around where the water comes in the pool. I was told there was no leak and got charged anyway. My wife and I watched the pool again for a couple more weeks and we knew there was something going on. I called more companies. This time I asked more questions like how they find leaks, who comes out, etc. Then I called Austech Leak. The phone was answered right away, no answering machine. The girl in the office asked me so many questions that I felt a bit more comfortable so I made the appointment. The owner came out right on time as promised. He came in the yard with a suitcase full of tools and equipment, but I was still skeptical. So I watched like a hawk. First just a visual for the common things he said. Then a microphone in the water and he let me listen, I heard nothing until in one of the lines that shoot the water back into the pool sounded different. Next a camera in the same line underwater? Something I never thought I'd see in my day. He found the leak in that line under the deck and showed me on the camera. I thought he was done, my mistake. He checked every single part of my pool and spa and even went to the equipment to see if anything was going on over there. And now the repair, cutting the deck, digging down to the broken pipe, making the repair and then checking the line again to make sure it holds. The repairs have been done, my pool is still full and I'm highly impressed with this company and the owner and would definitely refer them to anybody who thinks they may have a leak in their pool.
This company was a pleasure to work with. They showed me the underground leak on video camera and took a picture of it for my memories! Good to know there's somebody who knows what they're doing.
