Austech Leak Detection is great. I had a bad leak in my pool all summer, which was costing me gobs of money.. Darren and his team came in and refinished my entire pool with the Aquafin Advanced Waterproofing System. Now, the pool looks beatiful. And when a crack reemerged in the fall near the skimmer, Darren came back again and redid the entire area. The pool has not leaked at all since them and it still looks great..
We had a leak that would come and go in our pool. Very frustrating, and there was nowhere on my land that was damp to indicate where it the leak could be. I called another Leak Detection Company a year ago, paid $750 and got nothing for it. They could neither find the leak, nor give an explanation as to why we were losing inches of water. I was so frustrated and angry at paying for a service that I got nothing for and in my view, the technician never did a whole lot of test work!
The problem started again a few weeks ago, so I researched other companies and their reviews and was encouraged by Austechs. I called Ciela, their lovey New Yorker Office Manager and she assured me they would find the leak, or die trying!. The Austech team arrived right on time, introduced themselves to me, and went straight to work. Now my pool cleaning system was a little different, it is a self cleaning system, which is lots of little heads that pop up on the pool surface and blow the leaves to the drains. It was not a great system and always needed me to clean a lot of leaves with the net. Anyway, an hour or so in, after testing all the aboveground areas for the leak, Darrin (the owner) then donned diving gear and headed into the pool to begin testing every little head and areas in the pool for the leak. Of course it was the very last head that was the problem, the piping leading to that head where the leak was and with the pool losing 3+ inches a day, a huge worry! Darren gave me a couple of options on how he could remedy it, however since I didn't like the cleaning system anyway, and had thought on and off about changing it to a Polaris, I decided to kill two birds with one stone, which was to shut down the self cleaning system completely and have a Polaris system installed. Darren and his men, all of who were really decent people, got started Immediately. After much draining, digging, pipelaying etc. my pool was back to basics. This was all going on during the awful weeks of continuous rain, so not a pleasant time for all concerned, but they stayed chipper and worked nonstop. I now have my pool back, looking brand new, no leaks, a cleaning system I should have got 5 years ago and as for the digging and such, you would hardly know that Austech were here! I know it is a long review, but I am Scottish and I like to tell the whole story!! I would have no hesitation on recommending Austech to anyone! Cheers Austech!
My pool was leaking 1/2" a day and I needed to find the leak and repair it quickly. I was new to Austin and unsure who to call. So I called my Jandy service representative and I asked if they could refer a contractor. They recommended only one for the Austin area- Austech. I also researched the reviews on the web and my search came down to two contractors. One seem to have issues with customer service and the other one was Austech. I called both for quotes and services that I could expect. Again, Austech gave you more service for less money. At the end of the day, I called Austech and gave them the job to do the leak detection. Celia, the office manager, called me back in 10 minutes and said that the owner would be at my house in a few hours to start the job.
Within 15 minutes the leak was detected and a competitive quote was given to fix the leak(s)-one of my skimmers had not one but two leaks.
Darren gave me a competitive price to do the repairs and then gave me $200 off the price of the leak detection to help ease the pain. Darren and his crew showed up two days later and started the repair job as promised. Their workmanship was very professional from start to finish. The whole process from quote to clean-up was as promised and without one surprise. In today's world of fly-by-night contractors and the burden of "buyer-beware", I would unequivocally recommend Austech Leak & Pool Repair for all your pool leak detection and repairs.
