On a leisurely Sunday afternoon, our family of 5 stopped by for a casual lunch. Place wasn't that busy, so we thought it would be in and out so to speak.
Server apparently forgot to place our order, didn't check on us, then lied about it saying that they were so busy. They only had 5 tables in the entire resurant, not that busy at all.
It took kidding 55 minutes to get our food. It was barely warm and tasteless. Not a good bargain at all! $75.00 for 5 tasteless meals and a few sodas. I brought it up to the manager and he made it sound like our business ment nothing to them. I didn't even get an apology. Manassas would not miss a resturant like this.
Never again will I dine here and I'll tell anyone who asks my story.
Hey, all they had to do was maybe give us an appology or treat us like they wanted my business. It not like I wanted them to pay for my meal, just treat me like the paying customer, with respect by management, and some decent hot food & service. Very poor quality here.
Don't eat at the Backyard Grill for the Sunday brunch buffet!!!!!!! For a party of three, the bill was almost $60 (before the tip) and the food was average at best. You would be better off to go to Golden Corral, Waffle House, Shoney's or even Denny's - and pay half as much!
The total bill was $57.40 so I gave the waitress a $100 dollar bill. When she returned with my change, I was expecting $42.60 - but only got $42. I realize the difference is only .60 but it's the principle. When I asked about the .60, the waitress told me, "Oh, we just round it up...." I responded by saying, "Well, why don't we just round it DOWN to benefit your customer's?" She replied, "I'm sorry but we can't do that." The manager was standing beside her and saw everything that transpired. I immediately went to him and asked if this was the normal procedure, because it's the second time it has happened to me at this restaurant. The first time, I thought the waitress made a mistake so I didn't say anything, but now I see it was NOT a mistake and this is common practice. The manager acted naive, gave me a fake apology, then told me that he would ".....address this issue at the next meeting."
Like I mentioned in the previous paragraph, it's not about the 60 cents, it's about honesty. If it had only happened once - okay, but twice is starting to show a trend. If they will try to cheat us out of something like that, what else will they do? Are they going to serve food that has already expired, watered down alcohol? Who knows? Trust and integrity is something you earn, and they definitely don't have it.
If you want to show your family and friends a good time, good food, good service..... I strongly encourage you to stay away from this place, so you won't be disappointed. Good luck.
I TRIED to eat there on Mother's Day...NEVER again will I go there. First, I didn't realize we needed reservations..no problem with waiting over 40 minutes for our table as we had a large party. While we waited, we reviewed the menu. As soon as we were seated and waiter took our drink order, we were then informed we could only get the buffet at $24.95 a person. I was very disappointed we were not informed when we arrived especially after seeing us reviewing the menu. The "manager" half heartedly apologized but it still put a very big damper on our first and last visit there. We went across the street to TGI Fridays, was immediately seated and had a great dinner at a 1/3 of the price. Apparently we weren't the only ones who had this experience. Another party followed us to TGI Fridays as well......
