User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsPeople, if you love BBQ you should not miss this little carry out place. Both the BBQ and the people make it worth your time to stop by. The BEST BBQ anywhere around. Not to much grease or too much season. Just perfect. We never make it home too eat. We eat right there , in the car . The smell and the thought of how good it is gets the best of us. The one time we did get extra to freeze , when we let it thaw we could not wait to heat it so we ate it cold. Believe this, it was just as good. That same great taste. Even the sides are good. You will never find more friendlier people or dedicated to their customers. Morris starts so early and works late. No matter how tired he gets he is going to see that the BBQ people buy from him has the same great taste every time we visit his place. His wife and others who help him are the same , kind , friendly people as he is and hard workers also. Believe me these people are out to please their customers with the best food and service around. Try them for yourself. We love them and feel you will turn out to be loyal customers . Myron/Linda Jenkins
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI honestly don't know what is better, the food or the service. The people that own and run this establishment are extremely nice. The pork is the best I have tasted in Eastern NC! The sauce they use doesn't overwhelm the pork, it compliments the pork. The bananna pudding is out of this world. The sides are just as amazing as the whole experience at this establishment. I must say that everyone should give this pork a try.

I traveled in the 60's and 70's with my dad cooking bbq in onslow co.In 1979 i won 3rd place out of 87 cookers here in onslow co.I know what good nc bbq should taste like. personally i thought that taste had gone the way of the dodo bird here in onslow co.Then mr.thompson had pity on us real bbq lovers and not only brought back the real oakwood flavor but has perfected it. I'm glad to be able to smile again for, well "the joy of tasting it".
