Overpriced pizza. We went on a Sat night and the place I have to say is beautiful. And the bathrooms were clean which tells alot about the place. Our server was very attentive. The drawback was the food. There was four of us. We ordered the Pepperoni pizza, Hawian, Chicken Scampi, and Goat Cheese with peppers. The chicken scampi pizza which is $11.99 was a huge rip off. The pizza is cut in six slices and each slice had one shrimp on it but one slice had 2 shrimp. And at that they were very small. Very dried out pizza. The pepperoni pizza was nothing special at $10.99. The Hawiann and The goat cheese pizza were about average. This is a nice place to dress up and have drinks. But thats all. You might do better dressing up and staying at home and popping in a frozen pizza. Without the ambiance its probably about the same.
This place has the best appetizer I have ever eaten, ever! The SONORA EGG ROLLS are Amazing, and so is the ceasar salads! I literally have gotten them to-go four times this week, everyone should try them at least once, the rancharo sauce is the perfect complement to the rolls! I want some Now!
Food was ok. Thought it was rather bland. Service on a weekend night was horrible!!! We were never offered refills, different waiters with came our food, but our dirty plates weren't taken away until we asked them to, due to lack of room. When we ordered dinner, half of our party was served while the other half sat there waiting. We ordered dessert, (which unlike dinner, required no cooking) and waited for dessert as long we waited for our dinners that do require cooking. Then on top of it they tried to add 18% gratuity when their menu clearly stated for a party of 8 or more. Needless to say we got a menu, and asked the manager to remove the gratuity. If you eat here, I suggest just sitting at the bar otherwise your service will suck. I gave them two stars instead of one, because they comped our desserts for taking so long. I supported myself through college waiting tables so I truly know the difference between a poor server and poor service. California Pizza Kitchen offers poor service from their kitchen staff to their wait staff on a weekend night. I haven't gone there on a slow day, so I can't attest to their service during that time.
