the other two reviews are 100% correct. There is no other burger place that compares to Bronco Burger!! I would give it 10 stars if I could. There burgers are HUGE and messy and delicious. The fish Tacos are HUGE and messy and worth every penny. Even the Bronco salad is amazing. They just got a shake machine but haven't tried one yet. Add that to my next trip!
My husband and I found this place a year and a half ago while on a jog on Golden Hill Rd and were stopped dead in our tracks by the aromas escaping from the grease trap atop the Bronco Burger roof.
Maybe it was because we were starving, or because we were working out but the smells coming from this tiny restaurant on the corner were amazing. We smelled tri-tip and fries and chicken and we made a promise to ourselves to try the place out as soon as we could. Later that week we walked in, paid seven bucks each for one incredible burger called The Bronco Burger. It has one big juicy patty, sliced pepper jack cheese, sauteed onions, lettuce, avocado, tomatoes, bacon and a kick ass chipotle ranch dressing. It is massive. We took it (and a large sized fry) home and placed them on our coffee table. Rolled up our sleeves and what happened next was nothing short of life changing. We had chipotle ranch dressing running down our chin, avocado all over our finger tips and a Texas sized smile on our goofy faces.
We rarely order a burger anywhere else now, it'd be pointless. It is the best thing you could ever hope to have in your mouth. Trust me. I've had lots of meats in my mouth, and this was the best (and biggest).
Sure, we've tried other things on the menu, like the pulled pork sandwich with sweet and salty succulent slivers of tender pork dripping with homemade BBQ sauce. And the regular sized cheese burger which is dwarfed by the Bronco but still holds it's own....but nothing compares to the Bronco. Nothing. And I promise you...NO other burger place in Paso Robles will compare to Bronco Burger. Head on over. Pay the mere 7 bucks and welcome this burger joint into your life. And then rejoice because it's really the best thing that will ever happen to you.
True story.
If you live in the San Luis Obispo area and are a fan of either Firestones in SLO or Main Street Grill in Cambria, than you'll be quite happy with Bronco Burgers. Tucked away in a corner of the car wash on Golden Hill and Union Roads in Paso Robles, the non-adventurous may just drive by and not give this non-descript out-of-the-way little place another thought. Trust me, I did just that for many months. But on a recent Friday afternoon, my dad and I swung in check out their burgers and to my surprise, the place was full of people and their menu very appetizing. I had the ABC burger (Avocado, Bacon and Cheese) and my dad got the fish and chips. The ABC burger is enormous and perfectly cooked, as were the side of small fries. The bacon was done just right and there was a ton of avocado. I had a hard time handling the thing and couldn't quite finish it. Upon my dad's insistence, I tried a piece of his fish and it was outstanding. Batter coated red snapper cooked to perfection. I have not found a single place here on the central coast that has good fish and chips until now. So why would Firestone and Main Street Grill fans like this place? I suspect the owners are previous employees at one of those places. The food is quite similar and some of the menu items names (ABC Burger) are even the same. Regardless if they did or not, Bronco Burgers is a winner in my book and I highly suggest you give them a try!
