I have frequented Indian restaurants for the past 15+ years. I have tried some in Vegas and many in Sandy, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Logan. All of these locations are located in Utah. I have come to the conclusion that Tandoori Oven tops them all. The Indian Oven is okay but it doesn't quite hit the buds like the T.O.. The proportions in Tandoori Oven are sufficient to fill you. The biggest problem I have found here is over consumption.
I highly recommend their Chicken Tikka Masala with medium spice. You will think you have died and gone to heaven.
My wife and I first went to this restaurant when it was still called the Indian Oven about 3 years ago. It was an instant favorite. Perfectly seasonend food and friendly service. Then they moved to a new location on main street. We noticed the food quality declined after a few months though so we stopped going. Then we noticed the old location opened back up under the new name of Tandoori Oven. We checked it out and the great flavors and service are back. Turns out the partnership didn't work out at the new location so they split, remodled and reopened the old location. Trust me, if you want the best Indian food in Utah go the Tandoori Oven not the Indian Oven. Our favorite dishes are the Chicken Saag, Butter Chicken, and Chicken Coconut Korma...So good!
We are not food connoisseurs (and have never eaten Indian food in England, or India for that matter), but Tandoori Oven is fantastic! When we want to go out to eat, this is always where we go (or we order takeout). We love the saag paneer and the chicken coconut kurma! When we have eaten at Indian restaurants in Salt Lake we have realized how spoiled we are to have this cuisine available locally. This is the best Indian food we know of--you won't be disappointed!
