I must admit, I never thought I would ever get a facial but you know what they say, "you gotta try everything at least once in your life". My wife is a big fan of Ginger's and always asks me if I would like a facial as well (since I bring my wife there anyways). And everytime, I can only imagine what my guy friends would say if they ever found out. Well, about six weeks ago, I gave it a shot. My wife had her facial first and I waited in the lobby as usual. The place is pretty girly but quaint. Not a lot of magazines for guys but I found a couple that passed the time. As my time was nearing, I was getting a bit nervous. I just kept picturing a green mask on my face and a towel around my head. Well, as my wife walked out from her facial, her face just glowing and overall looking very relaxed. I thought to myself, well, here goes my manhood. The place where the facial takes place is in a little room that just feels and looks relaxing. As I got the facial, Ginger asked me some basic questions about any problem spots. I just told her to do her thing and I'll be fine. As Ginger began to "do her thing", I must say this facial thing is pretty amazing. It's like a body massage on your face and you pretty much draw closer and closer to a comatose stage as Ginger's hands lulls you into a peaceful state of mind....then the extraction takes place. Never had one before and have no idea what she was talking about. As this extraction exercise took place, I soon realized that this was a process in which I would have to endure while she picked and well i guess "extracted" any dirt, zit or blackheads that were on my face. This pinched a bit. Definitely the most aggressive part of the facial. As soon as Ginger was done, I think she said something like, "you had no idea what an extraction was did you?". Of course, I bravely said, "uhhh no..., I knew what that was." Fortunately, Ginger then went back to gracefully putting my face back to a heavenly place. Did I just say heavenly place? Man, my friends are gonna give me grief if they ever found out I wrote this. As the facial came to an end, I was proud of my self for going through with it but more importantly not falling asleep and forcing myself to stay awake so that i could enjoy this experience. However, Ginger did tell me later that I should just relax next time and if I fall asleep, I fall asleep. Once Ginger left the room, the first thing that came to my mind was how my face looked (Hey I just went through my first facial, it was more curiosity than vanity)...and boy was I surprised. I was definately shocked how much my face just glowed and looked very fresh afterwards. Guys - this was a great experience. If you are single, get this done every month. If you are married or with someone, get this done with your significant other every month. And if you think I am not putting my money where my mouth is...guess who has a follow up appointment with Ginger in about an hour? Gotta go, my extraction awaits!
