My husband and I decided to dine at Steve's Marina after we found a 15% coupon in the paper. There were only a few tables occupied when we arrived. Our meals we tasteless. My veal was so thin and tasted like a piece of leather because it was overcooked, my husband's fish swam in grease. It was not a pretty sight. Then we only got crackers while everyone around us got REAL bread! Payment was something else, we couldn't use our 15% coupon because the waitress did not want to deal with it and gave us some lame excuse. At that time we were "whatever" and just wanted the check and get out of there. As we were leaving we both noticed another black couple that only got crackers...You figure it out. I know this is MS and the south, but it's 2009 there too, isn't it??!!
Had dinner their last night. I split the Red Snapper with Artichokes with my husband - we had the fish grilled (not blackened). It was excellent.
The kids meals were high quality and not the typical junk that we generally expect. Two of them had Mac'n Cheese, and it was made from scratch and baked in their own dishes!!! The kids loved it, and so did my husband who "had to" finish one of theirs.
One of our kids got the fish, and even though it was fried, the quantity and quality were excellent.
The restaurant is recently rebuilt after hurricane Katrina. The lighting is not done well as the lights where we sat were not directly over the tables, but behind our heads casting a shadow on our food.
I would give them five stars except that there was no healthy option for kids meals and the lighting.
The help and hostess were excellent (albeit the restaurant was not crowded).
Wonderful!!!
My husband and I just had dinner there. I had the crab au gratin, there was so much crabmeat in it I couldn't eat all, so I had to take it home, can't wait till lunch tomorrow. My husband had the pan fried trout with a freemason sauce they make there, he still is gabbing how great it was. I have never seen him eat that much!! The service was great, the food was awesome and and the restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere. This is my new favorite place to eat.
