This is not a place to memorize steps, it is a place to feel, to be vulnearable and to be moved ! Jorge invites us to follow a beautiful and at times difficult journey...to feel, love and surrender to the spell of tango music! Gradually we awaken our body senses and we start to connect with our partner at a heart and body level. If you're willing to let go of your fears this is the place to consider!. I lived in Argentina for 25 years, I know what is authentic argentine tango and what is not!

I am a serious pianist, lousy guitarist, and amateur composer, all in the perimeters of classical disciplines. I had never danced before taking Jorge Luis' class. He sooooo emphasizes the importance of music as the soul of Argentine tango, and I can't agree with him more. What makes Argentine tango unique is the interpretation of music in perfecting its artistic form. And, yes, Jorge Luis truly grabs the soul and the music of it. At Tango Academy of Pasadena you don't get the dance-with-celebrity kind of show-off-ness. Here, you get Argentine tango in its true essence, you get a taste of authentic Argentine culture (especially through Jorge Luis' parties), and you're taken to a journey of total emotional release via physical integration with music. For those seeking for quality of experience, Jorge Luis' class is the best.

The Tango Academy of Pasadena is the only place in Los Angeles teaching authentic Argentine Tango. I have been encouraged and supported on my journey to become a tango dancer by a deeply committed teacher, one who conveys his love of tango music and communicates to his students how to honor that music and express their humanity in the dance. Visit an open house for an introductory lesson, you will be hooked!
