With a GIANT flag of Spain out front, I expected the food to be well... Spanish. Unfortunately there was little of my home country present in this restaurant. Somebody needs to teach the chef how to make a juevo frito for the Flamneco Eggs. The service was less than stellar. I placed my order prior to another gentleman at the bar. He order the same dish that I did. They served him first. Then, the bartender misorder the flamenco egg. I had to wait a while for it to come. He did nothing to make it smoother...just an oops...sorry. He might have offered me a little extra wine on them during my wait. Finally, with soooo many great Spanish wines out there, their wine list is dominated by wines from the largest wine distributor not wines from the importers who are getting all the great reviews from the wine press. I know Spanish food is cool right now, but if you want the real deal that reminds you of walking the Ramblas, running with the bulls, or making a paseo in the Plaza Mayor...don't try this place.
yet another overpriced restaurant in down town palo alto
The food is quite good - the ceviches and sangria are delicious. My favorite tapas dish is the short rib tacos. The atmosphere is also great - very swank for Palo Alto. I almost feel like I am at a swanky hotel or restaurant in the city. And the place is almost always crowded.
One caution: I've found the service can leave something to be desired. The last time I was there, there were several gaffes by the server/waiter that made dining there a little frustrating.
Overall, a good place to go for dinner out with friends with a good bar.
