In a time when my daughter needed Dr. Richmond the most she was neglected for Dr. Richmond's own personal need to have my children taken away by social services for an accident that D.S.S. deemed just that, not abuse. Dr. Richmond tried everything to make me out to look like an abusive mother to social services. Meanwhile, my five week old daughter was so traumatized by her accident that she developed an eating disorder where she could not suck her bottle. I had to see a specialist on the side because Dr. Richmond would not give her proper care. I also have a son who is a couple years older than my daughter and he was sick one day when all this was going on with my daughter and Dr. Richmond said she was not as concerned with him at the moment and she would worry about him when my daughter was better. Dr. Richmond, really, all those years in school, and you didn't learn to multi-task? Dr. Richmond is an okay doctor for the common cold. When it gets any deeper than that, in my experience, you might want to have witnesses present. She was totally unprofessional with me and my family and even got emotional. She was just extremely caught up with trying to be some hero. For the record I have never laid a hand on my beautiful babies and never would. She didn't want to see that. She called social services on me several times after three. I started bringing my social worker to all my visits. I am glad to say I left Dr. Richmond a year and a half ago and my entire family is better for it.
I was referred to Dr.Richmond a year ago when my son (14mo old at the time) had what we thought was cradle cap...it had spread all over his body and Richmond was sure it was cradle cap and nothing else. She prescribed some kind of steroid that I picked up from the pharmacy at the hospital and in two days my son's "rash" had just flared up full force to the point his eyes were swollen shut. I called and told her we need to figure out what it is now or I'll take him to a dermatologist in Springfield. She said" If you don't trust the care that I provide for your child, then I'll no longer see him as a patient of mine". I was shocked and asked what I was suppose to do, and she simply said "take him to urgent care". Instead I took him to a dermatologist in Springfield and as soon as she walked in to see my son for the first time...she looked at him and said "that's a bad case of Eczema on such a little guy". So Richmond misdiagnosed my baby and then when confronted would no longer see my child. Always get a 2nd opinion! Cradle cap, like I told Richmond, does not take over the whole body.
Highly recommend Dr Richmond. She was at my twin's delivery making sure they were going to be okay because they were born 4 weeks early. Afterwards she continued her support and professional help when we needed it. She's truly a blessing for my little ones.
Thank you Dr Richmond!
