Went to J-Fires for the 1st time this week as a retirement gift. What a wonderful treat! I was thoroughly impressed. Waterloo needs a restaurant like this. Prices were very reasonable with the quality of food presented. Like a previous comment, the gumbo is very flavorable. I loved it. Also had the shrimp remoulade sauce. The shrimp were huge and the price was only $7. The dessert special for that night was yummy. The restaurant is beautiful inside and outside. All of the staff are very friendly and attentive. Will be going back again and again. Matter of fact I went on Tuesday night and will be going back today or tomorrow for lunch and taking out of town guests!!!

Fine dining fare at casual prices. We had a lovely Mother's Day Brunch on the sun-dazzled patio at J Fires'. The staff was knowledgable, welcoming and friendly. The food was amazing! The prices were surprisingly low for the quality of their food. We started out with Blood Orange Mimosas and a bowl of gumbo. The gumbo was quite flavorful; with just the right amount of spice. Of course for our entrees, we each sampled from each other's plates and were not disappointed. We had the spirited french toast, by far the best any of us have ever had. We also had the pizza and the seafood omelet; both of which were wonderful! I really don't have anything negative to say about our visit. I'm so happy to have someplace to get a healthy, flavorful meal when I'm in town. Best wishes to J Fires' Market Bistro

Have had several meals there and have enjoyed every one! (If you can't spell etouffe, how can you judge it?) The owner/chef knows her stuff and proves it with her recipes - her exec chef executes the menu to perfection! They are both New Orleans trained, and it's evident in the food. The staff sees to your needs, and makes the experience special. Bravo to JFires - keep it up! I'm looking forward to many satisfying evenings there.
