I’ve known Shawn for most of her life and absolutely cannot believe what has been said here! Although I know nothing about boarding horses, here's what I do know - Shawn has run a successful, thriving business for over 20 years. It is true that recently she has run into some hard times. Her mother, who was her best friend, suffered from Alzheimer's for a long time and Shawn cared for her at home until she passed away She also takes care of her father (and his business) who has kidney disease and is bedridden. As if this isn’t enough, she’s raised 4 kids on her own during this time. She’s had some hard luck with weather and her property was almost destroyed. You should know that she is working very hard and diligently to bring it back to the condition she is accustom to. She would NEVER mistreat an animal - NEVER! As far as being a drunk ( I have never seen her take a drink) or bipolar or crazy - THESE ARE SIMPLY SLANDEROUS LIES - WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE - SHAME ON YOU!

I would only hope that any intelligent person (considering the spelling and grammar of the pervious authors so far, we certainly know they aren’t in that category) who reads these slanted, unreliable reviews keeps in mind that posting here is done with no oversight at all and that the motivations of these people are most certainly questionable. It appears they have nothing to do but attempt to ruin the reputation of a successful business that has been in existence for a very long time. Please don’t take the word of these people and check this business out yourself before making a decision on where to board your horse!

I am just saying if she gets this mad over $8. How would she react if someone was unable to pay board on time by a few days? Take it out on the horse I certainly hope not! or come make a complete @SS of herself at someone's job again wow! Yup sounds like a complete angel to my knowledge lol. I am definitely not lying about her coming to my work Boght Veterinary Clinic and yelling and screaming things about cancer! Wouldn't make that Sh*t up or joke about my beloved daddy who suffers cancer!

If this is indeed true then god bless her for helping her mother and father, then she should know better then to make an innocent good girl feel like crap at her job about parents not having much time to live! Innocent? maybe to animals. But lets look at Prince and Dummy they are a bag of bones walking around the farm yes they are old! Are they happy? I don't know. Or Missy she has a messed up knee, Dummy has a tumor growing out of his foot that is Hugh and he is really thin! And Prince is just way too thin. I am pretty sure she worms them does there teeth but there very sad to watch. I do hope they are indeed happy! Also the stalls quite wet in my opinion! can get fungus and feet problems. But board is only like 380 a month soo. Very affordable! I do hope Shawn does get help for her bi polar sick issues! Not right to go to peoples works and start drama! Dayna

Prince and Missy were humanely euthinized once they were showing signs of being ready to go! Untill then, Shawn took care of them and kept them as comfortable the best anyone could have. Dummy is looked after and has the run of the farm and is happy! Know what your saying before you say it!!!!! Thats verbal abuse BTW diagnosing someone with something!!!

I don't know you people or anything about horses, but I do know a little about Shawn and her parents. To set the record straight, she is not caring for her father and never did. Also, he was NOT bedridden and I am ashamed that she would tell such lies. And check your facts - her father passed away in July of '09. With regard to her mother, well I won't even go there but I will say that she passed away 5 years ago after spending like a year in a nursing home. CMAC's account of what he(she) claims to know is not accurate. I have never heard of her drinking before, but I think the bipolar theory is dead on.

hedgesusan - you clearly have a vendetta against Shawn. So sorry for you. . .

Hello! I am a vet who took a look at a boarders horse at this farm off rt 9 in the back of a baseball field, and when I went I pulled in and I saw all the broken fencing, the wet disgusting stalls and just felt disgusting this is by far the worst barn I have ever been too in this area! I declare this barn a junkhyard with stalls. The horses did seem happy and were in decent weight.

Nice vet, junkHyard you put and the run on sentences...wow if you got you degree, so could alot of fools! Regardless heres my statement, go see for yourself. We enjoyed our boarding at Oakhaven Farm and all the horses including my own looked fabulous. Every barn has pros and cons but if your horse is happy and healthy, thats what matters.

I have boarded my mare here for a total of maybe 15 days? The amount the wetness in the stalls was awful! (Shawn and I spoke before I moved my horse) and she assured me she would treat ___ differently but nope she got treated the same as all of the other horses, so I moved! Also every AM when I went to check on my girl her bucket was bone dry not a scape of hay in the stall! and outside NO water when I would go in the afternoon. I am surprised all the horses arent dead with no water!

    Not recommended WARNING, DANGER!

Don't bring your horse here unless you want your horse comming in fat and happy and leaving very thin, also with feet problems like white line diease, deep solfice infections, and bad thrush!
Also lady who owns it is crazy. Go look at a different farm this one is disgustingly dirty.
