If you're looking for authentic Lebanese/Middle Eastern food... look no further.
Wafa's is on par (and even better) than most places in Brooklyn. And if you live in the area, no schlep out to Brooklyn. Everything I've eaten there has been superb.
Please try Wafa's. You won't be disappointed.
Simply Delicious.
It honestly feels like you stepped into your friends kitchen, and she just happens to be this truly gifted cook. Wafa's is intimate and addicting...and if you happen to talk to her on one of those rare occassions when she is not busy...a truly great host who makes you feel like a welcomed guest of honor.
ask her if she has any luch specials left (even if its not luch time) and if you luck out she just might. try the tilapia, try the babaganush, try the works and throw in the kitchen sink. Healthy and Yummy in your tummy. best middle eastern (and 1 of the cleanest) in NYC.
For someone who was not very familiar with middle eastern food this was certainly a fantastic place to start. The food was delicious, especially the falafel -- it tastes like some I have had on MacDougal Street. I also enjoyed the shawerma, the sauce was great and just a little spicey. To be honest, I have tried most of the menu and its all very good, my only recommendation would be to order ahead as the space is limited.
