I am a big fan of trader joes, so one thing I don't like about whole foods is how big and flashy it is. But, I must admit they have a damn good produce section! Lots of variety and its always stocked full of everything. They have stuff that trader jos doesnt - papayas, mangos, pumpkins, a large selection of mushrooms, etc etc. Not to say TJ's NEVER has this stuff, but I was there last week and they didn't have any papayas or pumpkins or mangos. Surely you will pay for for buying produce that is out of season, but sometimes it is nice to at least have the option. Their hot food that you order and can eat there is all pretty nice. Another HUGE selection there. They buffet bar where you pay by the pound of food you get though can tend to be a bit of a rip-off in my opinion. You just have to keep in mind that all the stuff you pile in the plate/box can add up - and it can add up to a huge amount that is more than the food is worth. But all in all, It gets my thumbs up!
