I used a 2-weeks free pass to use the club when it was first opened. On my 3rd day, one of the sales person approached me and gave me a new quote for the membership fees (different from the 1st person I spoke to on my first day). Since the fees is cheaper than what the first sales person has told me, I decided to join. The sales person told me the following facts about my membership, which I was later being told that those facts were false by other LA employees:

a) my fees included the use of everything including Kids' Club.
b) I have to pay taxes only on the first and last month of fees and for the rest of the months, I will only be charged the fees without taxes.
c) I can freeze my membership for 1 month for $15 or 3 months for $25. That info is important for me as I know I am going to take a month of vacation shortly after I joined. I was trying to decide to join before vacation or after.

When I brought my child to the Kids' Club for the first time, I was asked to pay $3 per use. I was shocked as I thought the service is included in my membership (as I was told). I was disasppointed but bought the Kids' Club membership so that I can use the service.

Next, I need to freeze my account. I was told that the minimum I can freeze my account is 3 months, not 1 month. I was told LA doesn't have the 1 month freezing options. I was told that the sales person who has told me all the false info is no longer working there, and he has been fired. BUT that is not the point, someone LA hired has misrepresented LA, why should I as a member 'suffered' from LA poor judgment?

I then asked what else I am going to find out next that has been misrepresented. I asked about the tax situation as I have some doubts with what the fired sales person told me. I was told that I will have to pay taxes in my monthly fees!!!

I don't know what other surprises I am going to find out going forward.

Other than the misrepresentation by the sales person, I do like the club. Just don't trust whatever you have been told.

Do not fall for the free 30 mnt physical trainer assessment. I had this kid named Duane and he didnt know a thing about training. Every question i had, he had to go ask someone else about it. Besides that the pool is right there by the entrance and the treadmills dont have jacks so you can hook up your earphones to listen to the tv. Most of the so called trainers dont know what theyre doing.
