Not a bad tasting pork sandwich and the beans were decent and baked apples were nice. With that said, I travel the nation for business and hitting bbq is a hobby. The host didn't know what type of wood was used and there was no mention of the same on the menu. I didn't see any smoke stack off the roof and the pit outside didn't smell like its been used in a while. I was asking myself whether this was another imposter or real smoke bbq. When I rec'd my sandwich and sampled it, I don't believe my tastebuds lied - this wasn't smoked. There appeared to be a rub but it was bland and didn't taste anything other than well cooked tender and juicy oven baked pork. After leaving I walked around and notice a stack of hickory out bad. The stack of wood has been there awhile as fungus was growing on the north side. The stack was about 3 days worth and there was no bare spot in the grass. The bbq sauce is Bull-eye and despite claiming they make all their sides homemade, the beans were canned cooked with some pulled pork with bbq sauce added. The taste wasn't bad, but I don't like a restaurant claiming its pit bbq when its not. No I don't live in Abingdon, but for a Friday 630pm with the place near empty, and the first two bbq items (brisket and pork ribs) unavailable, maybe the pitmaster was no vacation for the week(?) but they weren't serving bbq that evening.

Best BBQ in town. Definately worth stopping in and eating some authentic Teaxas BBQ from an authentic Texan! Nice people and great food.
