Amara' Ark Daycare / Preschool

I chose Amara's Ark for my 4.5 month old because it is bright and cheery and warm and cozy at the same time. It is the perfect mixture of structure and boundaries and creativity and play. But most important is the smile on my daughter's face when she sees Noelle in the morning. I know there is a special place in Noelle’s heart for each of the kids she cares for because it is evident in how they respond to her. I researched a lot of child care options in the South Bay before deciding on Amara's Ark. Noelle made me comfortable with the idea of leaving my daughter with someone else when I returned to work.

My 1 star is not in regards to the childcare quality my child received at Amara's Ark. Indeed, she was treated very well there and grew quite attached to Noelle.

My 1 star is for the poor communication between parent and provider, which ultimately led to some major misunderstandings and accusations. This provider was unable to treat us as the parents with respect due to the inability to express her needs clearly-thereby blaming us for not understanding her issues. It is unfortunate, because she is very gifted with children. But being a business owner in daycare means more than just loving the children. It also means clearly expressing your own needs and respecting the parents enough to communicate those needs without severe incident or trauma.

We were not given that respect.

Amara’s Ark has been a wonderful and educational place for my daughter. From home environment to developmental games… everything helped her to grow emotionally and physically. She didn’t walk yet when she began going to Noelle and now, almost a year later, when I see her dancing at home when she hears music, I know they have had a lot of fun at the daycare. Thank you for arts, crafts and reading, yummy and healthy meals, and first friends.
