About:If you are one among the many who are extremely disappointed that Sherlock Holmes is nothing but a fictiouts character, a figment of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's imagination, then you will be happy to know that you still have a solace in the Baker Street Pub & Grill. Everything at this venue plays on the Sherlock Holmes theme, and the detective's fans are sure to visit this place even if there was nothing else working for it. However this place does manage to cut some fine ice with its excellent live music performances, delicious food, and well-equipped bar. This restaurant in Boulder is part of the Sherlock's Pub Company chain, and is not different from the others spread across the country, as far as quality of ambiance and entertainment is concerned at least. Good, consistant food and service. Reasonable prices. Great TV's for watching sports including satellite sports TV packages. One of the few "casual" Boulder restaurants/bars that one can drive to and avoid the parking hassles of Pearl Street.

Food is remarkably consistant which is more than I can say for many Boulder establishments. The bar tenders and wait staff are friendly and attentive. Well run place!

    Great happy hour drink prices.

I love the Burgers, seasoned fries, and tacos.

The deserts are tasty--especially the cobblers. The Bread Pudding is outstanding but unfortunately they rarely have it.

I just had to write something on here that would let people know exactly how great this place really is.

I came to watch the Broncos football game today and let me tell you how incredible my experience was.

First off they have a make your own BLOODY MARY BAR!!!! For the cost of the vodka you can have your bloody any way you want it.....

The happy hour runs all day on Sundays and they have $6 dollar pitchers of Bud, Bud light, Coors, Coors light and Miller Lite, $7 Pitchers of Shiner Bock and Killians and $8 dollar pitchers of Deschuttes beers... Im pretty sure I saw four of them.

The appetizers are half off!!!! I got potato skins for $3.50..... THAT IS RIDICULOUS!

They had a big screen for the Broncos games and about 15 other T.V's that I saw for all the other big football games on at those times.

This really was a great experience. I would suggest going if you want a place with great service, great beer and great football!

Not usually the type to write a review, I felt compelled to do so in this case.

Several things about this restaurant just didn't live up to the expectations of a place that presents itself as a British pub. It was more like a Bennigans Lite, with tacky fake antique decorations hanging on the walls and Guinness on tap.

The first thing that sets the tone in any restaurant is the way you're treated by the host/hostess when you first walk through the door. Right then and there is where I was lost. There were at least two employees at the door, holding menus and silverware, but they told us to find our own table. Okay, so they have a seat-yourself policy. No, biggie, that's kind of pub-like. Unfortunately, there were no tables left, nor any seats at the bar. Understandable since it was a Saturday evening. But, I quickly realized that this led to a situation akin to a roller derby whenever someone at a table signed their credit card slip, as dozens of people would race to said table with elbows out, ready to fend off any other vultures that attempted to get there before them. And all of this would be happening with the current party still sitting at the table! And now they had people standing there watching them finishing their food and drinks! So, basically, this gives the diner a bad first and last impression of this restaurant. First, you have the confusion, frustration, and anxiety of finding somewhere to sit during busy times. And lastly, you'll have the pressure of wolfing down your food and drinks in order to vacate your table as quickly as possible. Even the waitstaff seems to rush you, as we never got drink refills (beer, or even water), nor were we asked if we wanted anything else before being presented with the check.

As for the menu itself, essentially it was the typical casual-dining fare, not much British or pub-like about it. One exception was the fish and chips, which was not a very large portion, with two cod strips and a meager portion of fries. Possibly due to being a national chain, the restaurant appears to be mostly locked into the parent company's menu. However, I do give this location some credit for at least trying to recognize their local clientele, with a makeshift assortment of vegetarian fare. They were listed on a chalkboard easel out front as well as on the drink menu on the table. Three veg-friendly options were available on the day we visited (portabello sandwich, quesadilla, and black-bean burger). There is also a hummus appetizer on the standard menu. However the black-bean burger appeared identical to that of the former restaurant at this location, Chilis. It was tiny and wafer-thin, hardly filling. And the accompanying fries hardly made up for it, with only about a dozen on the plate. Granted, the price was only $6.49, but still I expected more. The large portion of hummus came with a reddish tint, and hardly enough dippers to scoop it all up.

Something else that was somewhat annoying was the furniture. This was the first dining experience where I've EVER been this frustrated by inanimate objects. But, the square tables were terribly awkward for the two people sitting on the sides where the table legs were. You basically could not sit up close to the table and still have your legs in front of you. You had to keep them under your chair at all times, or else deal with massive shin bruises. Also, the chairs did not have arms that extended around very far, but they somehow curved around far enough for me to hit my funny bone twice, in less than ten minutes! So, word of advice, wait for a booth to open up and pounce on it!

Overall, if you're interested in trying out this new establishment, then please don't let my opinion stop you. But, my final thought is that once a Chilis, always a Chilis. If you want something with more of a pub feel, go to Scotch Corner Pub or Connor O'Neils instead.
