Cole's Auto & Transmission Repair is such an AMAZING place to go get your car fixed! My car broke down and I needed to get a new belt and a new compressor. Unlike most other places, Howard Cole was able to give me an estimation on how much it would cost me before going over to his shop. Without a doubt, he has the BEST PRICES IN TOWN!!! I definitely recommend him to everyone! The Cole's team is very knowledgeable about their work, gets the work done promptly, and are incredibly nice people! Thank you so much!!!

Normally when I need repairs done on my car I let my brother handle it because I feel that mechanics tend to take advantage of women. I needed a repair done on my car window and everywhere I called they told me that the cost will be 300 to 400. I believe I found Cole's Auto Repair on craigslist. I had my brother take it up there for my window repair and the cost was 150. My brother really liked them so I took my car for another repair. Howard and Sarah and very nice and the customer service is great which is very important to me. They explain everything thoroughly before any repairs are done and are extremely honestly. I have never questioned anything they have told me, they always fix the problem the first time which is GREAT!! As long as they are in business I will be a customer!!!

I am new to the DFW area and I "was" looking to find an honest top quality mechanic. How I ended up at Cole's is shortly after moving here wouldn't you know it, my car broke down... It was recommended to me to take my car to City Garage. Not knowing any better I did. There I was told they weren't sure was wrong with my car but a new engine would fix the problem ($6500) When I asked if they could tell me 100% for sure what the problem was they said for $2000 they would tear my engine apart and let me know... I was not happy, just by chance I found Cole's on the Internet and I'm so glad i did. The Cole's team (Howard & Sarah) were fantastic, they were willing to tear my engine apart and tell me exactly what the problem was for $100. Turns out my engine could be saved. Although it was still an expensive job I now knew for sure what the problem was. Not only that but Cole's is very informative all along the repair process, they don't do any work without letting you know first either, I now have my mechanic.

    Thanks Cole's,
    Alan

I was told about cole's auto and transmission repair from a good friend of mine that is a customer of cole's. She has been using them for about a year or so and has been very happy with their service. I dont know about other people but I dont like change in life. You find something and you get used to it, you stick with it. She insisted that I used Coles 1 time & if i didn't like their service that she would pay my bill. In the mean time my car was at another repair facility that I have been using for 15 years with a blown head gasket on my 03 Toyota Camry. The other shop quoted me $2700 to repair it. I called Coles and they quoted me $1200 with a 1 year warranty. I have been driving my car for 3 months now and it runs better now than when I had first bought the car. At 72 years old, 1 thing I do know is good service when I see it. Coles is top notch service. If only I had found them years ago. The money I could have saved. I will always recommend this company & I am a customer for life.

I found Cole's via an internet search and was impressed with the Reviews. Howard, the owner, truly is as honest and knowledgeable as they say. I had taken my VW Jetta Diesel into the dealership for and eval as my engine light was on. They charged me an outrageous amount of money to fix my glow plugs. After I paid for that, they determined I needed new brakes on my rear and front axles. Since my funds were temporarily depleted for the glow plugs, I decided to wait. The next day and following week my brakes got worse and I smelled diesel (and lots of it) all the time. That is when I decided to find another auto repair shop. When I got to Cole's, Sarah was very informative about the types of parts they use and why. Howard listened attentively to the description of my car woes, took a look under the hood, and patiently explained what was wrong. A short time later, and much less money than what I spent at VW, he fixed my fuel leak and my brakes. I will never take any car I own to any other auto repair shop. They are truly a gem of a find and stand behind their work.

    WORTH THE DRIVE!!
    BEST PRICES IN DFW METROPLEX!!

I was referred to Cole's from one of my business clients about a month ago. I knew I needed to take my car in for some maintenance and with a dead battery on my way to work one morning, I knew it was the perfect time to try out Cole's.

Normally I wouldn't drive over an hour to try anything! Based on what I heard of Howard's reputation, honesty, and prices I knew I had to make the drive from Frisco to Arlington! Not only did I need a new battery but I was desperately needing some maintenance.

I'm so pleased with the service I received. As a woman, I am often worried that when I take my car in I'll come out with a huge bill and unnecessary repairs. I was pleasantly surprised when Howard (the owner) actually showed me what needed to be done, why, and gave me a more than fair estimate of what it would cost me. I was blown away! His estimate was over a thousand dollars cheaper than his competitors!
Also, his wife Sara is great and excellent at making sure you're taken care of.

I will make the hour drive with my 2002 Hyundai Elantra with over 98,000 miles back to Cole's in Arlington for all future repairs. They have made a customer for life! And I will continue to refer them to future business clients and my entire family.

I've had three cars repaired by Cole's Auto Repair over the years. Each time they have explained the reasons for my problem and the repairs have always been successful. A good example is the problem I had with a Dodge Stratus, the engine light was on and I had taken it to three different shops including a dealership. Cole's diagnosis was explained and the car repaired when the other shops wanted to do unnecessary and very costly repairs. My car has been running great for two years now since that repair. I have found my mechanic for life. Thanks Howard and Sara!

My father too his car to Cole's a while back to get it fixed and had a pleasant experience with Howard and Sara. So when it came to the point that i was leaving work one day and my car would not start i knew who to call. Howard set up a tow truck to come and pick up my car and get it to his shop. I was told everything up front. He said he had an idea what it might have been. While he was in the process of fixing the immediate issue with my car i asked him to check the check engine light and anything else he thought might need his attention. I am very pleased with this experience with Howard I will reccommend him to anyone that is in need of auto repair.

I went to Coles Auto Repair in order to get my car repaired. After looking at the car and checking its problems out Howard advised me that I needed to get a water hose to my radiator replaced and have my radiator flushed. He called me back and then told me that a second hose needed replacing. When I looked at the hoses at pickup, one had an obvious burst and the other hose looked like he had cut it open. Two days later on a Sunday, Sara called and said Howard had something to tell me. He said, "Your car is ready". So I go to pick up my car and Sara didn't want to give the keys until after we had paid $448 for their services. Even after paying, Howard didn't offer to take us out to the car and start it up to show what work had been done and that the car was in fact ready. So, I asked him to go outside and show us. He was very quick to leave us outside, so we started the car and in the time it took me to put my daughters car seat in the car, my car had stopped running. My husband went in to ask him what was going on and let him know what happened and he says, "Oh thats the alternator". Then he came outside and hooked it up to some machine to show us the alternator wasn't working. There was also a fuse lying in the driver seat floor that he gave no explanation for. The customer service I received was terrible. No mention of my alternator was ever made until I came to pick my car up. Then on top of that, he couldn't even give an explanation as to what caused it. He refused to give his license number or information for the shop, or to fix what he had done to cause the alternator to stop working. We are seeking legal counsel regarding this matter because of the negative response we got from Howard and Sara. He told my husband that it didn't matter whether he had any more of our business because he had already gotten our money. How unethical is that? So now I have paid this man 448 dollars to fix my car in which he said was ready and I had to have it towed from his lot to my home where it is still not in working condition. Don't go to Cole's or any family owned auto repair business. These types of people are doing whatever it takes to make an extra buck in a time of recession and ripping off customers and lying seems to be their number one way.

There is good & bad in everything we do in life. That even comes with being a business owner. One of the bad things about having a business is that no matter how hard you try you can't please everyone. Some people make decisions in life & expect other people to pay for the consequences of the decisions they have made. This is a prime example. This car is a severe case of neglect. Besides the fact that the car came in with probably over $6000 worth of body damage, the car was towed into my shop with a severe coolant leak. Upon inspection of the vehicle I quickly realized the leak was coming from a heater hose that blew apart because the hose had been oil soaked from the inside out. I went over the car with the customer and pointed this out. I informed the customer that the hose being soaked could be from the transmission cooler leaking into the coolant system or the head gasket could be seeping oil into the coolant system. I also informed the customer that the first thing that needed to be done was to fix the coolant leak (replace the hose)and to do a coolant flush to remove as much oil out of the coolant system as possible. I also let the customer know that all her hoses were oil soaked and & did not know how long they would last. I even took her to another vehicle and let her compare the difference between the hoses on her car and the good hoses on another vehicle. I also showed her the oil sludge inside the coolant system. She agreed to let us replace the broken hose and to do a coolant flush. Because of all the curves and bends in the hose it had to be bought from the dealership. After replacing the hose I throughly flushed the coolant system 4 times (only charged the customer 1 time). We went the extra mile to try to satisfy the customer but we could not remove all of the sludge. The damage had already been done. After installing the hose, flushing the coolant system, and filling the coolant system back up we let the vehicle run for about 15 mins. Another hose, that had been oil soaked as well, blew on the vehicle. We called the customer & explained what had happened & she recalled seeing the other hose being swollen as well. That hose had to come from the dealership as well. After installing that hose we let the vehicle idle again & quickly realized that the fan was never coming on. So we spent 3 hours diagnosing the problem & only charged the customer for an hour. Everything was pointing to the computer being the problem. I then stopped right there & realized that this was a can of worms & didn't want to go any further with it. If I would have spent another hour I could have confirmed that it was the computer but there was still the sludging problem with the coolant system that could have been a blown headgasket. Let's say that I did call them up & tell them it needed a computer. Then what about the sludging problem. I did inform them that it was in their best interest to get rid of the car & quit putting money into it. That the car was not worth it. I also informed them that they could take their vehicle to the dealer and get $3000 for it.

I want to say that Howard and Sarah are the greatest. I took my Ford Expedition to Cole's after I took it to 360 AutoTech. I was robbed there and Cole's took care of my truck and I have the utmost respect for Howard because he showed me everything that was wrong and everything he was going to do. My truck is running like it never ran before and I have Howard to thank for that.
