Service is horrible in this store and boy every item sold here is EXPENSIVE. I compaired their price to other afghan crocery stores, there are items that are even double the price of other afghan stores.
Their rice smells, doesn't taste as good as typical afghan rice and they charge extra for rice with any kabob orders. That is not the case in dozen other afghan restaurants in bay area.
Where do I start? The meat is reasonably priced and the best quality in the bay area. Service is excellent and their kabobs melts in your mouth. Did I mention the fresh afghani bread they bake there? Unbeatable, at first I thought Maiwand market had the best bread but Sahara Market's bread has better taste. I spoke to their baker and he said it is all natural. Also they have a really good fresh produce and fruit aisle and they have a variety compared to other stores.....pretty much a one stop shop
I purchase at Sahara Market often (since grand opening), and I think the staff is very helpful and professional, the restaurant food is great, their store is very clean. I recommend Sahara Market to all my family and friends.
p.s. it's the cleanest and most organized Afghani/Persian store I've visited in California!
