do they need more than one cook? why would I want to eat my food while my friends watch me.... plus the waitress was rude. not going back to this one. Oh and is it just me but come on you can tell when someone at the restaurant writes a review... no one eats every single thing on the menu and loves it.
LOVE this place! We are locals and this is our favorite place for our weekly night out! I think we've tried just about everything on the menu and we've never been disappointed! The shrimp and scallops are excellent. The Battered Cod is awesome as is the Shepherd's Pie. The steaks are thick and juicy, the seafood is wonderful and the desserts are just sinful....Ooh, soooo good! The Mississippi Mud Pie is the BEST EVER! Yum! Oh, and they have a GREAT kid's menu as well. The service is GREAT! We especially love Ashley, Rosana, Jeremiah, Ana and Lucy!!! Also, they just opened a Bar right across the hallway. It has Pool Tables, and lots of games. Fun! And one more thing...there is outside dining overlooking the Village with great musicians almost nightly. Seriously, it's really a great place with good food and the best part is....it's AFFORDABLE! You can't go wrong here!
I'm a local, have been there 3 times, and each time it has gotten worse. First visit was grand opening weekend, so, they had an excuse for the flavorless food and the poor service. Second trip, a month or so later, same lousy food and poor service - difference - they should have figured out the problems after a few months - now, no excuses. Third trip - the worst yet. We sat there for almost 15 minutes without even a visit from a staff member, then we were treated as though they were doing us a favor by being there to bring us our order. After 40 minutes, our food came - lunchtime - burgers, grilled chicken salad and a steak sandwich. Burgers supposed to be medium, came out like charcoal. Grilled chicken tasted like the box it was shipped in and the steak sandwich had about 1.5 ounces of meat on a 10" bun.
While we were there (well over an hour) we watched at least half of the meals that came out of the kitchen go right back in. Undercooked fish, overcooked burgers, wrong side items, cold french fries, etc. Iced tea was missing a key ingredient - ICE! Nothing like a glass of warm iced tea on a hot day in Florida. When we asked for more ice, the request was met with a sigh and we never got the ice anyway.
The only thing this place has going for it is the location. A great place to sit outside and take in the sights of John's Pass Village. They've had some decent bands on the deck, too. If all you want is a cold beer, scenery and maybe a band it's a good spot. For anything more - just keep on walking.
