I BOUGHT 3 GARAGE DOORS AND 3 OPENERS FROM COSTCO ST CHAS. SALESMAN ORDERED WRONG DOORS AND OVERCHARGED-CORRECT DOORS WERE ORDERED, BUT NOT THE RIGHT PARTS. THEY DIDNT SHOW UP AT TIME THEY SAID. COSTCO USES DOOR PRO IN ADDISION, WHO USES AMARR, WHO USES OVERHEAD DOOR IN DOWNERS GROVE-TOO MANY PEOPLE IN THE PIE!!! SUB CONTRACTER INSTALLERS WERE MAD AT DOORPRO FOR NOT SENDING RIGHT PARTS AND THEY REFUSED TO INSTALL AS I SPECIFIED-I ALMOST CALLED THE COPS! THEY THREW PANELS AROUND SCRAPING THEM UP-AND NEVER ISSUED ME THE CR THEY PROMIED 3 MONTHS AGO. COSTCO, AMARR, DOOR PRO AND STEVE, THE VIOLENT CRAZY INSTALLER FROM OVERHD DOOR IN DOWNERS GROVE, ALL MADE A TIDY PROFIT-NO ONE IS FOLLOWING UP WIHT CUSTOMER SERVICE. STAY AWAY FROM COSTCO KIOSK SERVICES!!!
That review is absurd. I just had 2 garage doors and 2 openers installed. It was very simple and quick from start to finish. I loved how I could see the exact doors I wanted built in the store. I signed up for a free consultation and was scheduled for as soon as I was available. The salesman was 5 minutes early for our appointment, he went through every option available, and answered any questions I had immediately. After hearing the price for everything and warranties I was very pleased. They had beaten every estimate I got from Home Depot, Sears, and Lowes. The installers were very nice, worked hard, and were very thorough (even though it was 35 degrees outside!). Everything works beautifully and I highly recommend Costco and Door Pro!
that's funny i bought doors from door pro as well. and i believe i had the same guys install mine. they were very friendly hard working and did a great job. it sounds like you really over exaggerating, on what they did. I mean really who throws panel around installs them and doesn't say anything? and then why didn't you say anything about the scratches when they were finished with the job? It sounds like you are just trying to give this company a bad name .
Wow! Sorry about your bad experiences. I just bought Garage doors from Costco and the roadshow guys were very helpfull! I am glad they were there, it made it convenient to schedule a consultation, which was free unlike the other box stores. It was nice to see the products in full scale size, you get what you see, no hidden agenda. I have standard size doors and the price listed minus the $100 coupon was a great deal. I compared others and some guys were less but I would have to find my own installer, pay extra for outer seals, no one wanted to talk about warranties, and one guy wanted to charge me tax which brought the price up higher than what I paid at Costco. The gentleman that came out to see us was very helpfull. He knew his products well and gave me many options to consider. The installer was friendly and went straight to work. I left him there alone and nothing was missing. They finished quickly and my doors work great. As for shopping at Costco, I feel comfortable with their products and service and how they back up their warranties. I think that store is great for large families like mine.
Sorry that happened COSTCO SUKS. I had a bad experience with the service for carpet. No one called me for weeks. When a rep finally did call me, he said he was out of my budget and not worth my time. I'm glad I moved on to another supplier and got a much better deal and fantastic service. Costso used to be great at customer service - not any more!!! I have been able to find all products in the store cheaper elsewhere-you are not saving anything buying those large quantities, or, more than you need. Be smart consumers-no deal to be had here!
You can't go wrong shopping at Costco. The St. Charles location is relatively new and has a open feeling. You can almost always find what you are looking for there. The savings are incredible.
Tire department service is very poor. They will only repair issues with tires purchased at Costco. I wrote Costco a letter (as a member) but they could care less. I had two bad experiences with the tire department at this site. While they were telling me to take my silly problem elsewhere, the staff was standing around talking with each other while every bay was empty. Wonder why? Meanwhile, I saved two hundred dollars on my purchase of new Michelin tires at Sears.
