Been here twice, once in August and sat outside on the upper deck for drinks and then a week ago to eat in the restaurant.
This place is very trendy and historical all in one...great food and pleasant service. Drink and food prices are VERY reasonable as well. Love the Ice Bar with the 32 degree section to place the drinks. It has been busy and hopping both times we went. Patrons seem to have a great time at this place and there seems to be a fairly wide age range as well. This is my new favorite spot!
Been twice and this review reflects both visits since they both mirrored each other.
I am not picky, usually can take a lot of crap before I complain, and rarely if ever take the time to review anywhere I eat. Do a search on reviews of this place and you will see what I mean. I made the mistake of reading one pro review and was lured in. These guy either got paid, got the meal comped, or went there on a dead day.
Got there early, about 5:00 in order to beat the crowd. Sat upstairs on the balcony so we did not have to wait for a table. Roof gets very crowded so beware if you decide to eat up there. Fills up quick with people waiting on there table or with your standard bar crowd. Music and noise loud so donât expect to talk much.
To make this short and sweet I will give you the basics.
Service is awful, at least with us and the tables around us. We heard other tables (3-4) complaining about the same thing.
Did not get and had to ask for napkins and plates after the food sat on our table for 10 minutes. Drinks (alcohol and water) had to be asked for after a long wait each time.
Order was shorted and we were questioned if we had even ordered certain items in the first place by our waitress.
Ordered a drink from the bar since the waitress had not been by after 15 minutes of finishing the first drink. Paid for a 3 dollar beer and after giving him a $10 he looked at me and asks if we were good meaning do I need change. I said no and then proceeded to explain the service was not good enough for a 300% tip.
Ok now for the food. Besides being shorted for one of our food items the pizza was cold and soggy in the middle. Pizza was not any better than any other Italian place and cost twice as much. We did not receive the free bread appetizer that some of the other people got around us. And when we did get out second pizza that we were questioned if we even ordered it was already too late and we were done and ready to go so we stated this and told them to take it back and wrap it up. Of course we got charged for it and no one said they were sorry for it getting there to late.
This was about the same service and food that we had gotten a few months before. We chalk the first visit up to new place and them working out the kinks but after the second visit we wont go again and will warn anyone who ask.
The building is nice and decorated to give a warm comfortable eating environment but the service and food donât make it worth the trip.
Seriously save your money and time. Go to downtown Dallas and tour one of the old buildings down the and then eat at Olive Garden or Spaghetti Warehouse. The food will be better and you will enjoy yourself more and will save a few $$.
Very disappointed. We were seated at a table that was still dirty and hadn't really been wiped down. The chairs had crumbs...although not serious it was not a great introduction to a new restaurant. Our waitress was not very involved and never checked on us after we placed our order. When she made a mistake on our bill she did not offer to correct it. I had to ask the owner to fix our bill. I am kicking myself as I left a tip for poor service. Hopefully it will be better next time.
