I visited Livingstons Fall 2011 on visit to the Fox. From the start, the visit was unpleasant. I had to tell the host 3 times that I was present (even though I had a reservation) and he seemed preoccupied with things other than the guests. My waiter was rude, he was not very attendant to our table, and even threw the menu cards down instead of handing them to us. The food arrived in intervals. My yogurt was sour, and my son's burger was cooked to shoe leather. I'm not sure what kind of meat is used as "beef", but it was unrecognizable. Both dishes were sent back. The manager was sauntering around chomping on gum- very unprofessional. The coup de gras for my visit was that I was seated at a table right by the kitchen door. Needless to say, I will never return to Livingstons, nor will I recommend it. I was starving when I left, having sent my food back. I ate a box of popcorn at the Fox.
I visited "The Livingston" on 07/18/2010. I was expecting a superior dining experience. I must say I was dreadfully disappointed. The food was no where near what I expected. For the price, I expected unique and tasteful choices, yet what I ate was nowhere near the quality of a midtown restaurant.. In addition, the service was less than pleasing. I asked for a cappuccino more than once, yet never received it. Finally, I noticed the health score was only average, which was surprising considering the location and the surroundings. This was a disappointing visit, and while I am a regular visitor to the Fox, I don't think I will frequent this establishment again. There are too many other choices.
