I'm shocked to see the other reviews. I love Indian and have eaten at Sitar many times and it is always fresh and delicious. I drive all the way from Goldsboro to eat there.

Not worth it! We just had the lunch buffet. The food was fair, not well prepared and not fresh. The Nan was very stale and old. I love indian food, but this wasn't worth it. The service was poor, I didn't get refills of water or coke. The waitress didn't seem interested in doing anything. The host didn't even ask how the food was... like he was sick of hearing how poor the food was or something. Did see a familiar face from the cooking staff that was from Bombay Grill (a much better restaurant)... he's always very friendly and charming. The only one not frowning in the staff!

Not my experience at all. Maybe it was a rare off day, happens to everyone y'know... my friends and I have been happy patrons of this restaurant since it first opened many years ago and have NEVER had a bad experience or tasted anything that wasn't simply delicious. The wait staff is a little deadpan sometimes, but the owners are wonderful and kind people. I would eat there more often, but they are a little pricy for my life.

I have to agree with Donna D - that was not my experience at all. The food is really good..... I have been going there for the past 6 years. Now since the new restaurant has opened up the ambiance is much better. I try to come there with my family on the weekends for the weekend buffet. The buffet on weekend nights are really good because of the variety. I know it is a little pricey but it is worth it. The owners are wonderful people. They are very hospitable. If there is any dish I would recommend it will be the Chicken Tikka Masala "the orange chicken." It is always on the buffet when we go there.
