the 69th street pier is in zip code 11209, nice spot for the whole family. great bike path that goes towards Coney island, over to cropsey ave where there is a row of stores, places to eat, and so on-you can fish all along it for about 2-3 miles.
not a lot of shade though. There is a bridge at 92nd street that goes over the highway and one at about 82nd which would be your best bets for staying out of the sun while you fish.

Did yoy ever try Canarsie Pier in Brooklyn. You have to take the L train to the last stop. Then a bus to take you to the park. For me I live in Queens, so I go to Rockway Park to fish. Near the bridge at the entrance to Rockaway. or go inside the Rocaway inlet up to the 126th St & Rockaway Bch.I use to go to Coney Island pier, for Porgys, etc. but I have to start early.so I stayed in Queens lately.
