Good evening. I am searching for a black owned beauty salon with beauticians who press hair, braid hair, and can give tips on make-up. Anyone know of such a salon in the Santa Clara area?
Yeah, I know. But I live on the borderline of Santa Clara county and the public transportation down here is extremely cheap compared to Alameda. I have a hair salon in Oakland in mind but they too are far. Thanx though for the reply. I will keep on searchin'.
Peace out
Phat Efx on Blossom Hill Road in San Jose off of Monterey Hwy and Blossom Hill Road. They have a hispanic owner but they do black hair for the ladies and has barbers that do the male hair inclusing doing weaves and extensions
Good evening. Thank you for the info. I take you up on the info. provided Joseph.
Peace out.
no problem. I hope they hook up your hair right. They are located in the same little shopping center where the Wells Fargo. The good thing as well is that they have a pizza place next to it that sells large pepperoni pizza for $5. So you can get your hair did and get your fill.
which wells fargo, the oe in Pughkeepsie/Blossom Hill or closer to Almaden/Blossom Hill?
the one on Poughkeepsie/Blossom Hill. The owner is Monica Diaz. I grew up with her since elementary school. Just let her know that Joseph Rios from Gardner said hello
Evening all. Thank you for the responses, but as of now I will just press my hair at home with the hot comb. Whew, it has been some years. I will check out the beauty salon in San Jose, but I was also directed to go to a salon on Piedmont Ave in Oakland called Hair Fetish. Yes, I believe the East Bay is the place I will need to travel to get a good stylist.
Peace
I completely understand your dilemma, as I am very particular as works on my hair. So much so, that I use to travel San Francisco for a salon. However, for the services you require there are decent salons in San Jose. Please see below.
Press/Flat Iron basic cuts:
- Kuttin Up on Lincoln Avenue (near Curtner Ave); I recommend the owner Shelley - she presses well, and her cuts are thorough.
- Strictly Styles (Near Stevens Creek/Saratoga Ave); owner: Capri.
- The Hair Scene (San Carlos/pass Meridian); owner: Jeannette Edwards
I wish you the best on finding someone that suits you.
Good morning. Thank you Ms. Kemisha for your reply. Piedmont Avenue in Oakland is a way away and even though one of the stylist who works there began pressing my hair in junior high school, I just cannot afford the trip. As with the other info. that I have received, I will look into the salons that you have suggested.
Peace

I think there are more selections in Oakland and/or Emeryville area for the beauty salons you described.
